I've had a numb left arm for the past two days which is bothering me. Have any of you had this? What did you do to relieve the weird feeling?

Phone the quack's. It's probably just a compressed nerve or something but personally I think numbness always warrants a bit of investigation.

Triangle - how did you get on at your appt this lunchtime?

    Hey all :)

Back from hospital having had lots of tests done and results in. Baby is absolutely fine :) and my bloods were clear :) I do have high blood pressure and they want to see me again in a week regarding itching and swollen feet. Been prescribed some cream and have been told I need to rest more - I thought I was resting too much as it was! Despite having to wait around for ages, I am so pleased I went if only to put my mind at rest. Thanks again to Fluff for advice xx

Cheers ladies for tips to remove my rings - going to try some of them tomorrow as I have made the finger even more swollen by all the tugging I have done! Really hoping something will work - will be totally gutted if they end up being cut.

Lovely catching up with all your news this afternoon - big love to all xxx

Must share a quick story, there was a girl in the maternity assessment unit in bed next to me. I overheard she was 26 weeks and had been having spotting and reduced movements. After waiting for ages, a doctor came to see her to tell her that the consultant recommended she be admitted for 24 hours to be mointored. Well she ummed and aaahed about it, her partner was not keen 'well you do have a lot to do at home!' and in the end she said she would have to have a cup of tea and think about it as she 'doesn't like hospitals' Now, not many people are a fan of them I know but if she was that worried about baby to come in in the first place, shortly an overnight stay to ensure little one was OK wouldn't even need thinking about? Maybe its just me, but I found that attitude really shocking.

Anyway - happy sunshine all! :D Are you by the sea too Miscka?

Maternity wards are amazing to hear things that make you go :o Triangle. A girl was put in a bed on the same ward as me last night not sure the symptoms she had to come in, but it turned out she has chlamydia, she then spent all night ringing her friends and family to complain that she had it but that it wasn't her partner( and babies dad) that she'd got it from as they were able to tell her she'd got it about 6 or so weeks ago so it must be xx and she wanted someone to 'sort him out' i just couldn't believe how loud and open she was about it. She kept saying to someone on the phone how she was so clean and careful normally, and she was disgusted etc and in the end one of the other ladies who she had kept awake talking said maybe if you didn't sh*g about and used a condom you would do better, thought there was going to be a fist fight after that.

triangle glad to hear all was well at your appointment. Welcome to the high blood pressure club, I know that I feel fine with mine but have learnt to listen to the midwives advice and RELAX as even with feeling fine you can still have high BP and it's not good for you or bump.

I'm bloody jealous of you seaside lot. I grew up (until I was 18) only a 15 min or so drive from the beach - in Norfolk funnily enough, as a couple of you mentioned earlier! I then moved to Wolverhampton (just to clarify, it's nowhere near any sea!) - even though it's been 9 years this year, I still miss being near the coast :(

My Asda waddle is completed - it's too hot though and they are in the process of redesigning the shop, so hot+9 months pregnant+can't find anything = not happy!!! But on the plus side I got 2 cooked chickens reduced to £2.30 each, lots of ice pops, and successful wombling to check tomorrow.

Oh and for those of you ready to pop like me, Asda have got whole pineapples for 95p at the mo - I'm sure it's nonsense really that it brings on labour, but I do like pineapple anyway so thought what's the harm in trying to see if it kick starts anything this weekend!

Following on the convo started by RJH (I think?) the other day, another good [STRIKE]excuse[/STRIKE] method of kick starting things springs to mind..I shall pounce on the OH later as long as it cools down a bit, if not then cool shower it is for us to share ;) I feel sorry for those of you who aren't feeling very sexy at the mo - I am loving it and so is my OH (thankfully!) - I am conscious of the small hippo look I have going on, but he easily makes those thoughts disappear and it's bloomin great!! Although I am looking forward to getting a bit of mobility/flexibility back cuz we're getting pretty restricted in terms of what I can manage!! :rotfl:

and ikkle a near fist fight on a maternity ward  not what you really want/need but could have been hilarious!!!!

Really pleased that you and the baby are fine and I hope you get the itching under control soon. :)

I think Becki's already mentioned it, but you need to get your hand as cool as possible. Stick it in iced water for a while, then use washing up liquid or oil to try to ease the rings off. If they don't come fairly quickly, don't tug, just stick your hand back in the water and try again after another 10 minutes or so. It's also worth trying to get your hand elevated if you can. Stick the bowl on a high shelf or something. Once they're off, I think you're going to have to leave them off until you've had bubs and returned to a more normal shape :D

PS. High blood pressure club for me too.

    Hi ladies,

Thank you for the best wishes. Nan has picked up a bit today, so feeling a bit better about that. 2nd steroid injection hurt like mad and has bruised again. I look like a drug addict with all my injection marks!

Mishka and Triangle - I'm norfolk too, weathr is gorgeous today, I don't want to wish it away at all but its making me really sleepy.

Congrats Miss-Money, beautiful girls and I'm glad Dan has redeemed himself.

Congrats to everyone else who has started mat leave, only 18 days left for me at work.

Ikkle- are you OK? Sorry if I missed why u are in hospital, hope not for too much longer.

Had a Mr Whippy today after injection, was scrummy and a bit naughty!

Have a good day/weekend everybody xx

Nothing. She's four and four year olds say stuff like that. Perhaps she thinks she'll get an extra ice cream at daddy's? Honestly, it means nothing. They've got no concept of hurting your feelings so just blurt out whatever's in their minds. It's not a reflection on you, nor her feelings about you (she loves you to bits). It's just a child saying something on a whim.

  • OK, I'm not talking to any of you any longer. We are both stuck in the office, though I'm in one which has air con, so it's not too bad. But would be nicer to be at home relaxing, enjoying the sun...

And aren't Mr Whippy ice-creams not a good idea, since the way the ice cream is stored and whipped is not good for baby? Did I not read soft ice cream like that is on the "not to eat" list? Otherwise, my DW would have eaten three a day for the past week...

And for those of you in Norfolk, I have an extra special GRRRR coming your way. I went to UEA and have missed the county ever since I left... Lovely place, even if it is damn windy in winter...
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...
