Not sure if this is the right place to ask but hey I'm pregnant and doing silly things all the time
I'm almost 30 weeks pregnant and have been considering doing the NCT antenatal classes but cant seem to find out anything re: price. I've tried emailing them but not heard anything back. Just wondering if anyone has done them before and approx what they cost. I know areas will differ (I'm in Edinburgh) but its just to get a rough idea as I best get my skates on.
For some reason I think I have all the time in the world as I've not even chosen or ordered a pram yet
Thanks in advance
Jo
I haven't done any of their classes but if you do a search on this board for NCT there were a couple of threads recently, I'm sure the price was mentioned in them.

Sa-ra-ra I can't stop eating fish since being pregnant, can't get enough of the stuff or prawns, squid and crab. I can't eat chicken breast unless it's in breadcrumbs. I know that sounds weird but the sight of uncovered cooked chicken breast makes me feel ill! I've also gone off broccoli!

You could also search for a course by postcode and see how far that gets you. I'm 90% sure I booked mine online without needing to email anyone but it was a few weeks back now!0 -
Glad to hear you and the baby are ok Triangle. I can't believe the woman next to you had to think about whether to stay in to be sure her baby is ok and as for her partner he'd have got a swift back hand to the knackers if he was mine! Good luck getting your rings off, I think Fluff has given you good advice on how.
RJH - I don't think your daughter will have meant what she said at all, as she doesn't see her Dad as much as she sees you its probably a 'grass is greener' spur of the moment though. Nobody could replace you in reality and kids say things because they know they have their Mum's unconditional love. I hope you're not too upset ((hug))
Ikkle - OMG! You should have rang Jeremy Kyle, you might have got an introduction fee for a potential guest!
Gemma - glad your Nan is a little better today
Food wise - as soon after baby arrives and I can manage it I'll be having a steak so rare it's had it !!!! wiped and thrown on a plate, pate, runny boiled eggs and soldiers and a huge whippy ice cream.....droooool0 -
evening everyone!
I have been reading every night before bed to catch up (which makes me have weird dreams about you lot! Pregnant bodies walking around but instead of a head it's a screen name 'emsbet' and 'fluffnutter' are the two I remember from last night haha!!) Today is the first day I've had to sit down and write! Thought you were supposed to rest on maternity leave?!
Massive congratulations Miss_Money! Love the name Mabel, just gorgeous! Bet you are enjoying mummy cuddlesHurry up 5 weeks I want it to be my turn!!!
Triangle, I am suffering the exact same as you hun. We are due the same week I think? My feet have been huge the last few days and I've had to take my rings off aqs my hands have swollen too. I've also had itchy palms of my hands and soles of my feet! MIL is a HV and has said its most probably the change in weather, the heat. I've got midwife on Wednesday so will mention it then! Glad you and baby are fine
Well I was completely overwhelmed by my baby shower on Sunday.....I'm not exaggerating when I say we were bought EVERYTHING by our friends and family. Cot-bed, pram, car seat, moses basket, crib, bouncers all the way to bottles, nappies, wipes, clothes, baby monitor, baby bath, toys and tolietries. And bits for me for hospital! I was crying like a nutter!
My 2 best friends and SIL organised it and had told me to wait until after the shower before I bought anything but I was obviously getting a bit antsy as I wanted to get organised. I knew the majority of the big stuff was being bought for us, and I'm sitting here now looking at it all, its amazing!
Still suffering with the dreaded SPD like a lot of you.....I am literally in agony of a night, its so stressful! Starting to get it in the day too now, walking like John Wayne mostof the time.
Braxton Hicks also getting stronger which I quite like as I feel its preparing me a bit!
Beautiful sunny day today but oh my God, how windy is it? Nearly got blown away earlier and thats saying something considering I'm the size of a sumo wrestler at the moment!:rotfl:

Evening all
Glad you're out of hospital Ikkle and they found out the cause of the swelling. It does sounds like an episode of Jeremy Kyle lol. Some people Do like to air their dirty laundry etc.
Triangle glad your tests came back ok. No other tips apart from iced water and elevation, hope you can get the rings off soon. One thing I've used before is Vaseline to remove rings although not sure it's going to be better than soap, washing up liquid etc.
Mishka my niece was born late August 2003 and my sister just lay on the sofa with a fan. Was soooooo hot then and now here I am melting!
Big hugs Gemma, good to hear your nan is a bit better today too.
STEAK!!!! right at the beginning I had a rare steakwell I didn't know better then. I've been a bit lax in the odd eating dept. enjoyed a few runny eggs too. My first feast post baby will be...rare(mooing) steak with mountains of blue cheese on top. A big runny egg on the side and a big glass of red wine
Oh OH better deliver this to the hospital otherwise we'll be getting divorced before we're married lol.
MissMoney your three girls are just beautiful. Glad OH has embraced being a dad and looking after you. It's amazing once babies arrive how quickly they can change people. Also seeing you so unwell probably bought it all home to him how lucky he is. Congratulations again
Hello to everyone else, sorry if I forgot anyone.
Here is scorchio!! But still very windy do its cooling. Went shopping to supermarket and OH treated me to lunchcream crackers now but OH wants to go to the cinema tonight, I may fall asleep though lol. Still he's back to work Monday and mother is coming Tuesday so I want to make the most of him this weekend. Just chilling with an alcohol free beer and bubba got quite excited
Hope everyone has a good evening:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Hi ladies, just wanted to add my thoughts on the NCT classes. We booked them but they then changed the dates and I couldn't go so got a refund. I was gutted, especially as our NHS ones were rubbish and I felt like I didn't have a clue what to do with the baby once it arrived. Now she's here I'm so glad I didn't spen that £130 (price varies in diferent areas) as its AMAZING how quick you pick it up. I thought I'd be terrified having a baby at home that relies on me for everything but you just kind of get on with it!
Oh and for those who remember me, our little katie is now 6lbs 3ozs at 5 weeks old.0 -
I can't wait to have rare steak. A Mr Whippy is the only naughty thing I have done whilst pg and I know technically you shouldn't but was soooo nice. Just needed to cool down and not feeling fruity ice lollies at the minute.
Baby shower sounds fab MrsBryan, glad you were nice and spoilt.
Ickle, glad you are hojme now, but boo for injections, at least they know what it is and have it under control. I agree with maternity wards being a bit scary with the clientele.Boots: £107.xx on AC :j

How can it be so windy yet still so hot?! I have all the windows open (bar one in the conservatory as the bin is the other side) and it doesn't feel any cooler!
On the plus side, I've just stuffed my face with Chinese takeaway as DH is out for drinks after work.
