Ugh today is looking like it's going to be a scorcher! Really do not want to sit in a sweaty office all day! Got a vest top on and got my flip flops out. Hair is tied up in a bun so it is out of my way. Really do not want to leave for work!

Congrats MissMoney, hugs to GemmaF and hello to everyone else.
Had last day at work on Monday, now on mat leave :j! Have had a busy few days, met a friend and saw an exhibition (on brains _pale_) on Tuesday, went to see a play (for free!) at the Old Vic on Tuesday, and yesterday went to our local market to buy food for special meal for OH's birthday. Am in London, it is hot but I seem to be coping - our house is really cool, and I am not going out more than required. Wearing big flowery tents and drinking lots of water. Made OH this http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/ice-cream-cake-77 as birthday cake with the two hot sauces too :rotfl: good excuse to eat even more ice-cream!

Today I have my third (and final?) growth scan, and consultants appointment, hoping to get them to agree to let me have baby in midwife led ward. 36 weeks today :j!

Hello to twinklie, definitely need to have that room assessed - if it is not safe for you to work in, they can't make you do it. Have they tried putting blackout blinds up/portable air conditioning/changing rooms?

Wow that's come quick (to me). Yey for Mat leave. I have 8 weeks left at school, 6 weeks summer holiday and start mat leave on the 4th September assuming that what they keep telling me is wrong and I can hold him in that long.

Yeah it's being assessed daily, and daily they keep deciding it's not fit for me to work in. :rotfl: My HOD used my room yesterday and was teaching the kids half naked by the sound of it by the end of the day got up to 26/27 degrees with no breeze.

I can self cert until Tuesday which is when I see the midwife, so going to bring it up with her - there is a doc there too if needs be. I also get my urine results back today (call after 10), to see if I've anything there that is adding to my discomfort. As it is the thought of going back with things the way they are makes me want to cry. So I need to do something about it. Plus what happens if we get another heat wave before I leave? So yeah, I'm going to force them into action!

I love having sunshine but yesterday afternoon knocked me out with the heat - had a really unproductive day and it's getting very close to my assignment deadline. On the plus side we had a friend staying over last night and went to a local pub for dinner. The weather meant we could sit outside which was lovely The dessert menu was disappointing so we popped to Tesco and got 2 tubs of Green & Blacks ice cream - one chocolate and one vanilla. Had a large mixed bowl of both then my OH and friend finished off the rest. Must've had about 600 calories in ice cream and amazingly didn't feel ill afterwards - hurray for the dessert stomach

I'm really glad that I'll get to go on walks with baby in the pram rather than carrying him around in the bump for most of the summer - 38 weeks today and hoping he turns up soon.

Museumworker, did you go to the exhibition at the Wellcome Trust? I'd love to go to their brain exhibit (I know I'm weird but it used to be my area of study) but it didn't open until after I was last in London and I haven't managed to get back.

Hoping to get a pile of washing done today, all the baby stuff is done but as I'm getting close to the end (hopefully) I want to keep up to date with everything I can.
