Re. birth plans, I've decided my key word is 'flexibility'. I'm not ruling anything out; whatever's safest for me and my baby is what I'm going with and that will depend on the day.
However, there is one thing I'm fairly sure about. There's no way I want to give birth lying flat on my back. I can't even lie on my back anyway without feeling short of breath, plus your coccyx can't lift and your pelvis doesn't open properly if you're on your back. And you're pushing against gravity. It's bizarre that so many women give birth like this. Obviously if you're having intervention like forceps it's necessary, but even with an epidural you can still lie on your side with your top leg up.

Anyone else getting any pressure on the butt like you want to go to the loo but there is nothing there?
I don't think it's even wind. Getting period type pain too but comes just as quick as I begin to wonder whats going on.0 -
Thanks lovecrafting, think I'm just having that "my baby could be here anytime now Eeeeeeek" moment. Every now an then hubby will ask me something quit general an I get my self in a panick that I don't know the answer! I'm sure it will all fall Into place.
Hope it's not too hot for your little one today. XIs now Mrs H after marrying my amazing husband :j

Ye I had the period pain sorta thing before bed. But it was so quick I was wondering if it was stretching pains. The back bit is "worse" than the period today though. Odd goings on ... Neither are strong or constant enough to worry me yet though. But preterm labour is deffo my concern if it continues.0

Yes! Exactly that. It started on Monday and can be really quite painful at times. It feels like I'm constantly constipated (although I'm not) and occasionally I ache towards the front of my pelvis, just like period pain. It also feels like the baby's pressing on my lower spine and when he/she has one of his/her spasm attacks it really makes me wince.
Basically, I think my six stone baby has just taken up residence in my botty and from now until I drop, I'm just gonna have to put up with the discomfort.

I'm less!! 31 weeks here. At least your close to "term". Hope nothing happens for me yet  She is moving ok at moment though so im ok with that. Wonder if its braxtons? I just don't get this tummy tightening thing at all. Think i'll lie down and rest. It seems to be a bit better the past 20 mins. I'll get a glass of water first incase its dehydration. But with the amount I drank last night and how often i'm peeing I don't think it is!
Even wondered if it was a wee wee infection but ... wee stick was practically clear this morning. Just one of those things I guess.0 -

Yup yup! I am on from 4-9pm then thats it yippeee and . Terrified I am. And with all these weird symptoms I think it's about time I started purchasing things for a labour bag! What stage is everyone packing theirs?0 -

I really think it's more likely to be the position and increasing weight of your baby pressing on some nerves.
The pains I get are nothing like contractions, they don't build, they're not regular. I'm confident it's not labour and I think you should be too. (Fingers crossed...)

Baby's bag is done. Mine's got some bits and pieces in it, e.g. toiletries, super-strength jamrags, breast pads, new nursing pjs, slippers, flip-flops. It will need some day clothes (but I'll do that at the time because it depends on the weather) and a few other bits that I'll do nearer the time.
Feeling fairly organised though. My midwife suggested 34 weeks was a good time to pull everything together."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
