    Hi all,

Been away for a long weekend in North Yorkshire with DH. Only just caught up now.

Gosh – Yorkshire is bluddy fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone.

I was very glad to get back to my own bed (memory foam mattress) though. The hip pain I was getting on the ordinary mattress was dreadful. No wonder some of you ladies are finding it hard to sleep.
The memory foam mattress does make you sweat though so I wake up feeling very hot.

Rebekah – love your photos of nappies! They’re adorable. Your pillow mountain is very funny!

Emsbet – your bump is adorable.

Twinklie – sorry to hear you were ill – but glad you have taken the day off today. It is absolutely boiling here.

Kitten – Good luck with your meeting today. I’m sure it will be fine! Xxx

Student – Happy Birthday!!! Good luck with your presentation

Jedi – Have a good holiday – hopefully it’ll be romantic.

Little Miss Moneysaver – Massive congratulations. How wonderful!!

Miss Money – Labour vibes to you!! xx

I get a midwifery email though and I just had to share this with you all!! LOL.

I was at a homebirth and asked the husband if he would put some water on the stove for hot compresses. A few minutes later he brings me a pot with the washcloths in it. I apply one to the mom’s perineum, and when I remove it I do a double take. There are several white stringy things on her perineum that weren’t there before. I pull one off and look at it closer—there are noodles on her perineum! It turns out there was some leftover chicken noodle soup in the pan. The husband never rinsed it out—he just added some water, warmed it up and brought it to me.

Twinklie hope you don't have to go in to hospital.

MrsExcited where in North Yorkshire did you go?

Kitten good luck with your manager, sure it will all be fine. :)

Well we've nearly finished painting the babies room and it's a little bit in your face at the minute but once the bunting is up and the furniture is in and curtains up it will be a lot nicer :)

I had a very restless night last night because although I feel the odd fluttery sensation I'm not feeling proper kicks and so I got a bit paranoid so at 5am I got the doppler out to check on bubs and got his heartbeat first time so felt much better after that. I'm now sat enjoying an ice lolly :)

    Huge congratulations LMMoney, fantastic news!

I hope noone is suffering to much in the heat, I managed to discover what acid reflux was this morning, but totally my fault for eating late then going straight to bed....

I saw a preview of What to Expect When you're expecting last night, and I thought it was great. Typical rom com, along the lines of Valentines Day and New Year's Eve, but all about pregnancy and babies... Didn't think it was DH's cup of tea so didn't tell him too much before we went, but he thought it was great, in particular the 'Daddy Club' (and shh... may have even shed a tear too!) So I totally recommend an Orange Wednesday / 40% off with o2 visit :)

Happy Wednesday everyone, and hugs to anyone who needs one today.

Hey Ikkle - we stayed in cabins in the forest near Pickering. Took the steam train to Whitby, went to eat at the Star Inn in Harome (incredible food), went to the food festival at Malton and spent the day in York on the way back.

It was well worth the 4.5 hour car journey.

Oooh I really wanna see that! Glad you thought it was good. Were there loads of bumps in the audience?

Yep - I'm starting to feel the evils of acid reflux. Gaviscon is my best friend at the moment! :rotfl:

Oh I'm glad you had a nice time MrsE, we used to live in North Yorkshire and on days like this when the weather was nice we would often go to Masham for sweets and then up to Aysgarth falls. Kinda regretting getting rid of our car last month as would have happily gone to the coast or the waterfalls today lol x

Thanks for the messages. Ems, I have my 25 wk appointment on Tuesday too. :D

But honestly, trying to get to see a doctor was a nightmare. In the end I had to lie. Made myself cry (have always been able to do this on demand) and told her I'd not felt the baby move since my funny turn.

Feel really bad saying something like that when it's not true. He's been happily making my belly wobble all morning off and on. But she was gonna make me wait until tomorrow otherwise and I was in shock. I was trying to call from 8.30 as per the rules, but nobody answered/it was engaged until I got through at 9.10! By then all the days appointments had gone!

Anyway, I've got an appointment at 11.20 now. I'm sure it'll be ok, but just want some reassurance.

I also wanna see that film. Was gonna try and trick DH into seeing it but then he called me and asked if I wanted to go on a date night with him to see it the next time he's home for the weekend! Result!!:j

    Big :grouphug: to everyone else

I'm going to see 'What to expect' on Friday night with DH and my sister, we're going to Frankie and Bennys first for pizza too, yum yum!

Really suffering with my feet at the moment. They are soooooo swollen it hurts to walk. They are also very very itchy especially at night, as are my hands. Sure its normal but will mention it to midwife when I see her on Monday for my 36 week appointment.
