I've had Santander say i need to bring my salary over for their £100.

Turns out no i didn't. Didn't transfer my salary & still got my money.

** I understand it's 2 different banks & that Santander may not be as strict as Halifax.

at the time of the interview your asked for the details. If they arent provided the incentive isnt given.

If it is mistakenly giving it is taken back a number of weeks later by the account quality team

What if you withdraw it as soon as it's paid?

Do they send you letters ordering you to pay them back?

no, no they arent. Regular payments in the terms and conditions are referring to the salary or benefits.

In the interview you will be asked for the details, if they are not given then you dont get the £100.

Are you just annoyed that a bank isnt going to just give money away for no reason?

If you dont wanna do the full switch dont, but dont expect the bank to pay you for it

Regular payments are Standing orders/bill payments.
    Salary is a regular credit.

No I am not eligible for the £100 incentive as I already have 5 Halifax current accounts none of which have a salary paid into them 3 pay me £5 a month each, one paid me £100 for switching some years back.

No previous Halifax incentives have required salary payments to qualify.
The T+Cs of the current offer are clear and do not require Salary payments to the account.
If you are interpreting them differently then it is clear that the employees don't understand their own products or the T+Cs are incorrect as published.

So what you're saying then noh, is that:

regular payments = anything that is regular going OUT of your account. Where the opposite of a regular PAYMENT would be a regular CREDIT as you described.

    Correct?

I can understand that. If Halifax want you to bring across your regular credits, then i do think their T&Cs are open to misinterpretation. In fact i don't think at all - this thread is proof enough.

Rather strange logic for someone on the 'Account Quality Team' ........ when 'Payments' under the Tab on my Halifax Reward Account is the designation Halifax themselves apply to my outgoing bill payments?

So 'Regular' Payments are clearly the outgoing debits I have permanently filed on my account. No reasonable person would read the T&Cs specifically on the Halifax website relating to the switching bonus as in any way encompassing Salary or any other credits.

    Correct.

Even if the definition of Regular Payments was changed for this offer to include regular credits to the account the T+Cs as published do not make it mandatory for a salary to be paid in to the account to receive the incentive.

    11. The offer is subject to change and can be withdrawn without notice at any time.
This means they can do what they like!

They're not stupid - they know some people will try it on for a free £100 and they will do their best to stop it.

Do people really think a bank would give away free money for getting no business in return?! Get real !!

No, you go overdrawn, and then you are charged the standard fees.
