Halifax £100 lure was a complete & utter waste of time for me

has anyone closed one of these accounts?
I don't have much use for it... but I'm somehow paranoid about going in to the branch to close it, them saying I only opened it for the £100 bonus (which I clearly did) and them somehow demanding the money back... is that crazy?

I'm guessing to ensure the £100 isn't removed you need to have the DDs/SOs/credit paid at least once (which hasn't quite happened with me yet).0

Not really, He lied to me really, he lied to be again, when I went back in to the shop, I asked to be changed to a reward account. When I got my card and pin etc, I just thought to ring up and check if it actually got changed, It hadn't, so I spoke to them, explained my case, gave in the name of the banker who miss sold me the account, they credited my account with a further £25. So I had the last laugh really.

when is the £100 suppose to goto into the account
they have switched my direct debits and other payments i have seen but no £100 has appeared in my account yet0 -
The £100 goes in on the day you start the switch, unless you are not entitled (eg. no salary paid in)0

Can i jsut ask, anyone who opened the Reward current account online, did you get a cheque book sent automatically? I didn't and have been told I need to go into a branch for them to sort it ( but they have given me another £25 for the inconvenience)0

Get real. Imagine asking for a reporter to 'get on the blower' and then what, you think HBOS will just say 'certainly mr lewis, whatever you say mr lewis'? :rotfl:0 -
who do you think Martin is? He has as much power / influence as you or I.
