Devo-max for Scotland?
Comments
-
I've got to laugh, with the snp banging on about independance for years & years and suddenly realising that the majority of Scots won't want it they throw in a third option of devo max, more powers for Scotland but with the safety net of being still part of the UK.
Seems the snp want to have their cake and eat it as well.
Just hope they sort out the problem they seem to have with over spending, The Scottish parliament and Edinburghs tram system comes to mind, hate to think how much extra the new forth road bridge is going to cost!0 -
Independence is something that appeals emotionally to some but, once people have a clearer idea of the disadvantages, they will realise that the few benefits are greatly outweighed by the many problems and costs that would accrue.
What are the disadvantages?Vote YES to Scottish Independence in 20140 -
Not sure on how much it would cost them to set up a new currency but I'd put money on it not been cheap. Plus the loss of any funding from the EU as they would lose membership and would have to apply which can take over 10 years.
We would not lose our EU membership for long (if at all) we would be a succesor to a current member state, so would be fast tracked.
With 90% of Europes oil and vast renewable energy potential we are more likely to be accepted into the EU than the rump UK would be.
We will use the Pound, unless we vote to join the euro in another referendum.Vote YES to Scottish Independence in 20140 -

Whats wrong with you? Dont you get enough attention at home?
for what its worth incase you or the scottish nose pickers (SNP) hadnt noticed we live in a democracy
i.e. Do you want an independant scotland? its a yes or no answer
not three questions mibbes aye , mibbes naw , Sort of so long as bla, bla, bla,
get a grip you are an embarassment to scotland.
other nations are pi$$ing themselves laffing at us
The parliment building was estimated at around £70 million max
The final figure was nearer £750 million
So how on earth are we going to run an entire country within budget if we cant even cost a building without making a complete hash of it ?
Dont even get me started on the trams fiasco
One of scotlands biggest industries TOURISM worth billions and we are dreadfull at it.
Tourism employes more people in glasgow alone than shipbuilding ever did when it was at its peak.
Im speaking as someone who drives tourists al over Scotland
take Glasgow for example there is not one official drop off/ pick up coach spaces in the city centre so our visitors can go spend thier
hard earned £s ,$s , euros, yen ,ect ,ectjust because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you0 -
Over 10 years of devolution and we cant even get the basics right like i said on your other thread this affects the whole of the UK so give the whole of the UK a say in the break up of the UK with a YES or NO vote.
another example of a half hearted attempt at sorting the binge drinking culture.
No more muti buys in supermarkets. i.e. 3 bottles of wine for a tenner.
supermarkets answer: the same wine at £3:33 per bottle
You couldnt make it up!!!
Need i go on?just because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you0 -

That's good, IMO.
It means you can buy the amount you want to but not the amount the supermarket want you to buy.
I'll bet there were people who bought three bottles when they only wanted one or two 'to get a bargain' and, once that extra bottle is sitting there, ...There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I agree, i would rather one question.
get a grip you are an embarassment to scotland.
other nations are pi$$ing themselves laffing at us
What are you basing this on? They will be laughing a lot more if we don't go for indepedence and opt to keep dependancy.

This was run by the Labour and Lib Dem government both unionist parties.
The SNP have run the government within budjet since they took over and as far as i know all government projects.
Dont even get me started on the trams fiasco
Yet again another unionist parties fiasco (Labour).

Glasgow City Council is run by Labour, see a theme developing here.
Just because the unionist parties cant run a !!!! up in a brewery does not mean the SNP cant.
That is also no reason not to go for independence, Westminister is run by people who dont care about scotland and Labour down there done no better than up here.Vote YES to Scottish Independence in 20140 -

If all the other parts of the UK voted for a party that promised it fine but they did not so thats why Scots will be the ones that vote.
While I dont agree with the supermarkets conduct, multibuying makes you buy more than you may have wanted, the ban sorts that out.
Are you seriously saying no other government in the world gets nothing wrong?
You are verging along the lines of the old unionist argument that we are too poor, too wee and too stupid.Vote YES to Scottish Independence in 20140 -

Thats Alex Salmon in a nut shell, Too Wee, To Poor And Too Stupid.
I shall explain, he's a small man thinking he's big fish, Alex Salmon hid the fact Scotland lost it's powers to adjust tax from parliament and holding a vote 700 years after a small victory over the English to influence the emotional side of the vote is stupid, reckless and shows how little he thinks of Scotland's current problems. (Instead of calling a vote soon, he would rather have the entire 18 months debating it instead of debating the rising costs and raising unemployment)0 -
