Grrrr Problems with OH over DMP

Grrr, access to phsiotherapy is supposed to be through your doctor. Go back and ask for the correct treatment that you are entitled to. The least you can ask for is to be assessed to see if you can be helped.
That's all my doctor said to me. My x-rays didn't show anything, so he said "go and see a physiotherapist, see if they can find out what it is".
The usual prescription for back problems is just ibuprofen. What have you done to yours, and why did you have to have something else? (I'm not picking you up on this or criticising, as a fellow "back sufferer" I'm just interested).
P.S. How far up North are you?0 -

I'm not sure what I've done to my back. I started getting pain after having my second child - 10lbs of a beast, delivered flat on back etc. and then kept getting pain lgging him about, ignored it stupidly (got a shock with number two!) and it calmed down a while ago. Then began to get more twinges recently and have continued exercising (sensibly) but was encouraged to do a 15 min circuit session. Did it, fine but a bit achey all over. Then about 5 days later crippling lower back pain. Next went to work but then got more and more pain so that I couldn't walk (bad as am a teacher!!) and in agony, with shooting pains down my legs. That was on Monday and still in pain now.
Doctor gave me diazapham, diclofenic and codeine (all spelt wrong I'm sure!!) but they don't take the pain away, just make me completely out of it!

Funny how most of seem to be on very similar paths - regarding your back I would keep going back to the doctor - it sounds to me as if you have sciatica
I hurt my back at work nearly 2 years ago and have been suffering ever since - the drugs only dull the pain - never really get rid of it - I have been to chiropractors, physio and had acupuncture and nothing has helped - finally in October I had an MRI scan and it turns out I have a herniated disc and have to have an operation to remove it - don't keep suffering get it seen to
As for the OH I can only sympathise being in a similar situation where OH just has to have his new toys, the budget goes out the window and you never get anywhere0 -
Just had a row over the phone with mine, then read this post and it made me smile. Seems everyone is in the same boat, mine doesn't "get" it either seems to forget it was him that run up the debts and that I sat for hours crying to the lady at CCCS. He needs a social life because his job crap, living with him is crap;)
Keeps looking at holidays and Wii, thinks the money is going to come off the tree at the end of the garden.
God I'm on a roll now, its half ten on a Saturday and I'm sat on my own with a packet of value biscuits and a cup of tea and its great, shame he's going to bother coming back!
Feel much better, thanks ladies:beer:Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

Hi,
One thing I noticed from your OP was the comment about makng money on ebay to keep your creditors sweet.
Any DMP that you have worked out should be based on your usual household income etc, not including unknow elements such as ebay.
This way, anthing you can raise on ebay can go to yourself or into a savings account to possibly pay the debts ealier when you have saved enough (given that you would always be looking to go for a negotiated settlement and not paying back the full amount owed)
Sorry - no doubt you have already gone over the DMP in other posts, and possibley Im coming in on the tail end of it - so feel free to ignore me If im wrong etc !
All the best

I agree with Debt23 any ebay money keep for yourself, the DMP will get paid in the end and as long as all you creditors are on it, they are happy to be getting something as they have all agreed to it.
Going to have an Ebay blitz today, OH at work so think I'll raid his stuff, reclaim the money he spent last night!!!
Your in laws sound charming! I always tell mine that I'm teaching my kids the value of money , how to do housework and DIY so they don't end up like their father, works a treat!! They know how to hoover and strip wallpaper, they are only 8 & 5, OH is 38!Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

I had the pain going down my legs and thought I had sciatica. My doctor arranged an x-ray but the discs in my back are fine - that's why he suggested physiotherapy which is working. Painkillers just wouldn't have cured the problems with my spine (though the doctor did originally tell me just to double the ibuprofen dose).
Thing is, if it gets better this time it will probably happen again. I would go back and ask for x-rays and physiotherapy. I had to go back and see a decent doctor before I got anything done, but it really has been worth it.0
