Dilemma. If you have a problem with a utility that doesn't seem to be getting resolved with the expected speed and you knew someone really high up in the organisation well, would you tell them?
On the one hand I don't want to pull strings and I don't want to ask favours from someone that is obviously a busy person. On the other hand, would they want to know that their organisation isn't working as efficiently as it should?
Since posting this 2 hours ago, I have had one progress phone call and then the fault sorted.
I only moaned on here, so I now suspect that one of the NP actually knows who I am.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Congratulations to Sue and her family.
DS is home. All his stories seem to concern how awful it was, but he seems in a reasonably upbeat mood, so I think he must have had fun. One of his "issues" is a problem with admitting that things have been fun. It's as though admitting that he's had a good time would mean he was saying his life wasn't sad, and he's not ready to do that. So if I say "Was it fun?" or "Are you glad you went?", he just says "I s'pose." But if I ask "What was the best thing?" he can answer "canoeing".Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I'm another that works from home so quite a quick, dry commute
silvercar: That is the power of the NPT
Lydia: Sounds like he had a good time and he will be better for it :T
My DD often try's to play "good" things down, act cool, but you can usually get a smile out of her with little effort
It's been an up and down day but it's FRIDAY!!! :j :beer:0 -

Those really are typical boy comments. Yes, DS is pretty articulate about everything else. Just not about whether he's had fun. Well, he is so far, anyway. We'll see what happens as he get older!
Here is a pic of the purple thing climbing up my fence. It looks better in the sunshine, but I forgot to take a photo this morning.
