Congratulations to Sue and her family.

DS is home. All his stories seem to concern how awful it was, but he seems in a reasonably upbeat mood, so I think he must have had fun. One of his "issues" is a problem with admitting that things have been fun. It's as though admitting that he's had a good time would mean he was saying his life wasn't sad, and he's not ready to do that. So if I say "Was it fun?" or "Are you glad you went?", he just says "I s'pose." But if I ask "What was the best thing?" he can answer "canoeing".
    DS = boy.
"What was the best food?" would work too.

Blimey, watched Eastenders tonight and boy did it bring my breakdown back to me, they have managed to capture exactly what it felt like for me, right down to what I call my bubble...that was there I burst into tears at the memory.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hugs. You have done so amazingly to deal with everything. It must be tough being reminded of your breakdown, but the important thing is that you survived it. And learnt from it too, I imagine??
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Yeah - I googled "purple climbing" and hit images.... although I did recognise it and knew of the name clematis, so figured it was a good bet as I obviously had heard the word mentioned when I was around them in our garden (we were bound to have had those as a kid).

    Clematis it is .

Lydia - No advice , but I do symapthise.I have a very articulate daughter who does not express joy well. It is hard to see them struggle with it.

I sometimes have thought she actually gets pleasure from not expressing pleasure. It has been as if she has been in training to be Will Self. There is a measure of self control about it.

She has had her share of tricky times , scary episodes from me , a traumatic loss of her horse and a multiple bereavement we bore.

Passport renewal form confusing the f*** out of me. Looks like a lot I just leave blank.... it looks like I just fill in Section 2 and 3. Then Section 4 mark as "NO" "NO".. Then ignore 05, 06, 07, 08. Sign 09. Ignore 10.

Then sign at the end and send it off with payment, old passport and 2 photos.

This will end up taking me hours to go over and over and over and over and over and over.... and I want to post it off today.

Do you need a passport for Darzit?

Never heard of it. If asked to create a sentence using it I'd have said: Dar zit is on der end of der nose.

Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

One for zag or any lover of music.

Did you ever see the talent of Poly Styrene?

I seen her on top of the pops 2 tonight and thought I have to Google her as I remembered X-Ray specs from back in the day...

Seen some recent videos of her and what she was doing and she was a gorgeous person.

She died from cancer last year :(

Edit: Forgot to say she was only 53
