Dilemma. If you have a problem with a utility that doesn't seem to be getting resolved with the expected speed and you knew someone really high up in the organisation well, would you tell them?

On the one hand I don't want to pull strings and I don't want to ask favours from someone that is obviously a busy person. On the other hand, would they want to know that their organisation isn't working as efficiently as it should?

Is it a billing issue where it is just a pain or is it a 'no supply my kids are cold, hungry and in the dark' issue? The former I'd just wait for it to be sorted and request some compensation for agro at the end, the later and I would pull every string I knew.
    I think....

Its not a billing issue, but its a pain. We are not cold, hungry or dark. Just had a call to say they are working on the problem, just wish they would get their finger out.

    Post Office website fail ..

From the check/send service page you're directed to a branch finder, and I presumed that'd be where they offered that service. No, that's the list of all branches. Turned up - and it can ONLY be done at a main PO. So ended up having a 2 mile walk in the baking sun.... but, PO counter staff was good. I'd missed out where I was supposed to write my existing PP number - and he said "this is an old form", so he filled out an entirely new one on the spot for me. Job done.

It's scorchio out there. I need to find a box that contains clothes that I can wear when it's hot .... didn't want to do that, they're all "packed".

    Not to late.

I have an aunt with 3 children who thought she would not have grandchildren. Then on of hers remarried at the age of 40+ and produced 3 within 4 years.
Try that with one at 60 and two 50+ and single.

    :)

    Not necessarily.
Next time lemonjelly invites you for cheesy mash, you go.
Assuming he has a sister with kids, you'll be auntie Pastures in no time. :)
Oh ... marry into it! Does anybody know how you actually catch a flying pig?

There is a lot of it that can be left blank. You may need to have somebody countersign it who has their UK/ROI passport number. One pitfall is that any signiatures have to be inside boxes without touching the edge.
PN are you going somewhere furren? :T
Yes and no. Somewhere where a passport isn't required, just ID. But I have no ID, so that means a passport's best to get. Also, increasingly, one's PP seems to be on the list of ways to prove you are who you say you are (e.g. renting flats, buying houses, getting jobs), so it's the pain in the butt thing that I have to do simply because the world changed and the alternatives end up more bl00dy awkward to sort out.

13 years older and not look any different - now you are just boasting.
The man at the PO thought I didn't look any different.

Don't forget - you can't wear any branded items (e.g. sports tops, tops with logos), or the photographer will ask you to get changed.... and/or the photographer will have his butt kicked and he'll be sent back.

I think you will find PN can beat you on that one...

You're right. I sleep on the sofa - and here's my PC.... and in the mornings, when I start work, often I don't even bother to sit up. PC's on, I roll over, wiggle the mouse to activate the screen, then carry on from where I was when I fell asleep the night before.
