So my first online shop today was delivered. I never realised that

    a) the petrol coupons are valid to 17 June rather than the 2 weeks you get from an instore shop
    b) free samples - I got clipper tea
    c) the shopping is all sorted out freezer/ fridge/ cupboard

I emailed online@tesco.co.uk to say that I hadn't been able to enter some coupons and they replied within the hour to say they will credit my account. :)

...(we had a really nice croquet lawn when I was growing up, I think it had probably also been used for tennis but my parents put in a tennis court on what had been the 'hard' horse exercise yard - open goal for you here PN)

    YES!!!

Even my school didn't have a grass tennis court. Actually, we had three gravelled tennis courts - and you lined up either side of the net and batted the ball back and forth, ignoring the lines, because there were 3 courts in a row and we'd fit about 16 people along that (8 either side) - and the ones at the end (and some in the middle) didn't even have the net.

Charity shop! It provides some relief from the guilt of throwing out good stuff. Plus they'll collect - well, round here they will.
They don't take everything... there's a lot they don't touch. And often they just tell you they're full up/no more.

Been today though - offloaded stuff.

It's just the furniture that's a pain in the butt really ... need it for two more weeks, so I need to get it cleared then.

They also don't collect. One collects - but last time I booked them (the day before completion), they turned up to say "sorry, warehouse is full".

Now I need to phone a bunch that are a 50 mile round trip away .... and they will, no doubt, come out way on one particular day of the week... and if I happen to be at the end of their route they're likely to say "Full up, we'll pop back next week for the rest" - which doesn't help me at all.

Fell foul of poor opening hours today. Managed to get a lot of stuff done, but fell foul of banking hours (10-3.30) and tip hours (9-4) when we tried to achieve the last two outside jobs on the list.

I now have a tip run to do in the morning, can't do the bank as I then need to dash across the county to be doing "old stuff", then the bank'll be closed... so I'll have to go out again Friday morning first thing (well, 10) to do the banking thing.

When did you all grow in to it or did you have it from young? I never started getting it till my late 20s and it has got worse every year since :(

I started around 27. Needed drugs for it every summer since. This summer, only taken them one day so far, and OK all the rest of the time. Waiting to see if it's going to come on later in the summer, or if I'm starting to grow out of it finally. (I'm 42.)

Yes, but not quite as good as yesterday. Today was 23.7kWh=£11.13

Got rung up this evening by some customer survey company wanting to know all about my opinion of my recent interaction with Halifax telephone banking, so I gave nice answers to the questions where they were due (polite, prompt, listened well, etc) but told them exactly what I thought of the not-mentioning-the-three-month-rule issue. Still feeling I'd rather deal with the helpful and intelligent woman in the branch, but feeling better about the bank as a whole after having been invited to say what I think.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Rose of Sharon!! I'm feeding and watering mine very carefully. Top plant!

I like it too. Its one of the few that I tolerate. However it is in my weed book as invasive. It turned up under the fence and settled in my garden. A bit like the wild geranium.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I think it's just about starting for me again this year.

I take my hat off to people who can recognise all those different weeds. "Garlic mustard" - I thought that was a joke, but no.
