Here's something else i have learned about learning languages. When you learn or improve them through boyfriends every lesson seems to start with body parts.

DS is learning Spanish at his school but has little aptitude for it so we got him tutored (had to sit in on the tutor sessions so he's comfortable). Began to wonder if I was picking up some of the language.
Learned last weekend in Spain that I can barely understand it at all. Have downloaded free lessons from the Independent last year so must get practising!
Generali, saw an office on the high street with your screenname on. it, and took a photo with my phone but it's too lousy to show everybody.

Long after leaving school, heard that there was a debate about which foregn language they'd teach as a second language at Scottish schools. Typically it's French but apparently it was felt that Spanish would be (a) easier and (b) more useful as it's easier to get to than France from Scotland as most people from there just travel to Europe by plane.

I was having to email a french person the other day and found that rather than being completely random, Google translate is now better at French than me (surely when talking about french we should be allowed the shruging shoulders smiley?!)
    I think....
