I'd guess this is a good deal more uncommon than not knowing about Pearly Kings and Queens!

Just been taking snaps of furniture for sale. That's an awful job. In your own home, with 1-2 pieces you can stage it, get the lighting right.. etc... in somebody else's home, with limited space and no enthusiasm, you just end up thinking "that'll do". Sun's shining, shadows, wallpaper/curtains behind the item .... tricky stuff.
Question is, how on earth you describe things. I mean: what wood is it? What style is it?
Got a sweat on already and so far only faffed around with one dressing table, 3 wardrobes, two chairs, three side tables, 4 different soft chairs, a bedside cabinet and a telephone table.
I mean... you don't want to say "oak" if it's not, or if that is a lesser value than "brown". And you don't want to say "brown" if it's walnut, or oak. And do those woods have any value? All hard stuff.
Don't want to ask £10 for something worth £100, nor get stuck with something worth £10 by asking £30.0 -

I did see my first man "in big pyjama pants" in 2007 when I moved to a bigger city - and my first sight of women in burkahs. But I was driving down a road in that community to get to the other side of it.
I don't get out much
If I stood at the end of my road now, on the road passing through my town, all day, I doubt I'd see anything other than white people on the pavements and in the cars. It's very rare here.... except in the few takeaways and restaurants.
As for white furren - you can't tell unless they speak.... so you don't know.
But I can't understand foreign accents on the telly/news, so I'd struggle in real life, in a place where other noises/things were going on.
I even rely on subtitles for a lot of British/English/Scots accents.0 -

Maybe it's just me but for a moment, I thought about something else than a man in arab/asian clothing.0 -

I spent about an hour in brewers earlier, going through exterior paint colours with them again. I am getting really frustrated now, trying to match to my woodstain. Bought something that is more wrong than it looked on the card and will have to be used inside a barn some where.
Apparantly dulux no longer colour match for exterior paints because they fade. I really want to get it sorted so i can do some and surprise dh.0 -
Thinking of getting OH a man city footie shirt; they've just produced them with "champions 12" on the back. Do you think that would be appreciated or look naff?

I can't tell Yorkshire from Lancashire accents. I'm also puzzled by why an extreme east England accent reminds me of a far west English accent and neither sound like London.
But I'd heard of Pearly kings and queens maybe from seeing Mary Poppins as a kid. And no I've never heard anyone else speak like !!!!!! van Dyke in that film;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Your OH may absolutely love it .... or not. Personally, I would hate it, but then I (a) have no interest whatsoever in football, and (b) have a particular antipathy to wearing clothing with writing on it. (It's weird: I haven't the slightest objection to clothes with writing on, as long as I am not the person wearing them.) So I am not the best person to ask for an opinion on this one!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
