its trackpad is hypersensitive and thinks it's been tapped if anything (such as my arm) comes within a few inches of it, even if it hasn't been touched.

That is a common problem and there is a piece of software to make it less sensitive. You'll have to google as I can't remember what it was called, but I read about it in the Sunday Times.

Anyone else watching the Concordia programme on C4? It is chilling.
I will now. Didn't know it was on.
Watching on 4+1, but it's nearly over on there too.

Edit: 10 minutes .... but obviously, therefore, missed it.

It's not clear to know what kids will find easy or hard to say.

DD1's first word was "lawnmower." I was so shocked, I asked for a repeat & got it. As we didn't own one then, I still wonder if she meant something else, but it was very distinct.

Her second word was "wall." :o

"Mum" & "Dad" didn't figure for a while; it was all stuff, so long as it didn't begin with "J." That and animal voices, real or imagined. We had a lot of fun with "Narwhal!" :rotfl:

One of James' first words was oh *&*& (another word for poo), seems his childminder liked saying it.

She wasn't his childminder much longer after that.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Looks lovely.... but wouldn't make £70 worth of improvement to my life, so I'll give it a miss until they get cheaper, which I'm sure they will in due course.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
