I type by touch, reasonably fast. I don't know if I could do that on a touch screen, without being able to feel the keys. The only touch screens I've ever used are phone ones, so not the right size for touch typing. Maybe I should borrow somebody's ipad or something and see whether I can type on it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Same here. I need a keystroke depression to know that the letter has been pressed. Additionally I am feeling for the home key notches. Like you Lydia, I spend a lot of time on Excel and I don't find tablet devices very good for Excel at all because you have the fiddliness of no keyboard combined with the fiddliness of getting into cells. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Another thought on new, smaller, IT devices and phones. A lot of younger people use their thumbs to type. I wonder if this will lead to new types of RSI. Given that typists are prone to RSI using all 10 digits, I can't imagine what pressure on two is like. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? How did you guess? Thanks for the tip anyway, but it's too late, washing machine has been on for 3 hours, and he commandeered the tv to watch MOTD or whatever it's called (football).
Must'nt moan too much, he washed up0 -
It's not clear to know what kids will find easy or hard to say.
DD1's first word was "lawnmower." I was so shocked, I asked for a repeat & got it. As we didn't own one then, I still wonder if she meant something else, but it was very distinct.
Isaac had initially trouble with pronoucing the letter "s". So he called Sam "Dam" for ages. Sounded rather rude, but she took it in good part (-:lostinrates wrote: »Yes, you can also buy it in health food shops, trying to drink that in the past should have warned me. Incidentally, the very non gillian mckeith like woman i saw about eating said she would no sooner advise people to drink that stuff than she would advice them to take. A table spoon of bleach at bedtime.
Aloe Vera's handy as a gel for sunburn or windburn, but I'd keep it for external use only....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

When my eldest son (now 21) was a baby, and just weaned he broke out in an angry red rash, ezcema, all over his chest and stomach. GP prescribed hydrocortisone cream which we were'nt too happy about. Hence a trip to our local Health Food Shop where the owner suggested we try Aloe Vera Gel which we had never heard of before. This was of course in the early 90's. Within 24 hours the redness had gone down and by the end of the week had almost healed. We later went on to adjust his diet as preventitive but that's another story. He also tends to get hives from too much sun and when we were in the Canaries a few years ago they were promoting 100%Aloe Vera Gel which we thought to give it a try. Worked again, especially if kept in the fridge as it was cooling on the skin.0 -
