So should I tell them now or not?
(I thought of not telling them at all, but they won't understand why I can't visit so soon).
I see sss's point thast there's more to go wrong by not telling them than telling them. Once somebody thinks you're holding out on them they might wonder how much more there is and imagine things are worse than they are.
But I can see it's a difficult call.:oThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
How many times have you booked theatre tickets for you and your date? That's a rhetorical question, but there's a point there somewhere.
Posh Alert 2.
I've not actually ever been to a theatre - nor have I met, in real life, anybody else who has actually been to a theatre.
And .... I've actually rarely dated either, so I wouldn't book anything as I'd not believe they were actually turning up, to be honest. I'd assume it was a bet or a dare.0 -

The theory is I'd tell them afterwards. I'm going to have to tell them afterwards, just because I doubt I'll be visiting as soon as they would need.

After she was divorced, she decided to look me up .... and we have been together nearly 35 years, now.
If she is a similar age to you, her first marriage must have been short and when she was very young?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I met my first long-term GF under a table. It was one of those very wild teenage parties, and although I'd had a few, I wasn't up for the sort of shenanigans the guy in my avatar was famed for....
....So I crawled under the table, where I found this young lady, who'd had the same idea. We were together for around 18 months, before my new life in London made it rather obvious I wasn't coming back to this part of the country. We lost contact for 25 years or so.
Now, having re-established contact through a chance event, we write & we've chatted on the phone. So far, we've not met up. You see, although we've exchanged photos, we're still 20 years old.0 -
You know the slightly oddball people who occasionally occupy the other parts of this board and talk about building shelters and stashing a year's worth of food? They won't be pleased by this story:
