Tricky, silvercar, but I think I agree with sss, for all the same reasons he cites. Hope the op goes well, anyway. Hugs.

Talking of "when were you going to tell the NP?".... Well, some of you have been egging me on to get back out there and meet some men, so I suppose I should let you know that I am just about to go and meet one for coffee later this morning.

Good for you Lydia, you deserve some happiness and I hope it goes well. :A

I thought you had already as you've been quite quiet the last couple of weeks ;)

Just one other point to add to Lydia and sss. If you tell them after the operation, they will know that you have hidden one important thing from them – obviously for all the best intentions. They can then spend all their time after that worrying about what else you might be hiding from them. Consequently, if you do not tell them before the operation, you might have to keep it secret afterwards. In practice, with quite a lot of people knowing about this, somebody is bound to let it slip out sooner or later.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Only you really know them but from how I read it, you should tell them.

If it is a routine small opp with little to no risk then it should be treated like that and they will cope with that. If It's a bit more than that they still need to know.

What if something went wrong, how would they feel? That's not likely to happen but I'm sure they will want to know.

And when exactly were you thinking of telling the nice people? :D

Well I sort of just did didn't I?

Problem 1 is they over react, so tingling fingers become a tumour rather than too much typing.

    Problem 2 is they worry.

Problem 3 is that now is not a good time, One is in hospital and the other is at home, restricted visiting due to the treatment.

I did think of telling them that I didn't know the date of the op until now and now is not the right time to worry them.

Feel like I have just jumped into a parallel universe, 418 pages and 5 ? threads, why have I never ever seen it before....ever ? Where have you been hiding ?

    Welcome, motherofstudents!
Introduction....45, married, no kids, no students....although we have a westie, 1.5 years old, who succesfully attended puppy class, so maybe that counts? :)
I came from a distant land far far away (Belgium), but living in the UK since '99.

Some on here pretend to like the food of the devil but it is obviously only a ruse to catch out the unsuspecting, no one in real life could actually like mushrooms.

Look, we had an official poll on this a while ago and 93.4% of the NP's liked mushrooms. Topic closed. :)

Now if you were a wind up merchant you could stay off the site for a few days and wait and see how big the search posse is that LIR organises to go and check you are ok...

Silvercar - I would tend not to tell people stuff to protct them from worrying, but it doesn't do me any good so I say tell them too.
