Excellent answer, you have passed the first phase of your initiation. Some on here pretend to like the food of the devil but it is obviously only a ruse to catch out the unsuspecting, no one in real life could actually like mushrooms.
Mushrooms ? err, I only like them if they are disguised in a spag bol. does that count ?
    I think....

I planted mushroom spawn a few months ago. Nothing doing yet though. Maybe in early autumn. ;)

Meanwhile, a friend has been training her new & highly intelligent dog to find a cloth lightly laced with truffle oil and rewarding him when he does.

There's a lot of ancient woodland around here.....:D

Good luck, we have had n luck with the mushroom spawn. :(. We do have beech trees we considered the truffle injection for. I imagine dog dog would be quite a decent truffle hound. Only thing is, truffles are one of the few i do NOT like, lol.

Hello MotherOfStudents and welcome to our thread. I should warn you though that just keeping up with daily posts is a bit of a full time chore.

Some of the others will be round to greet you soon with some cookies.

Definitely full-time but not a chore. You need stamina for this thread. I try to stay on top of the posts but have just had to come to terms with missing some posts. This was becoming my social life, and I definitely have more interest in the progress of NP lives than I have in the lives of many relations. I do however need to go to work and interact with RL.

I have an anglepoise on the floor next to my bed. I can point it up towards the ceiling for a decent amount of light, or down towards the floor for just enough to see by if, for example, watching a DVD with DS and DD. It was a present from my parents when I went to uni in 1987. Sadly it is a bit broken - it is a genuine Anglepoise but must have suffered rougher treatment than yours, GDB, and the head comes off the arm - but it still works.

Welcome motherofstudents. Do tell us a bit about yourself. I am a single parent with two kids aged 11 and 8, and a part-time physics teacher, and along with some of the others (lostinrates, michaels & Doozergirl mainly, but sometimes some of the others) I am "doing things" to my house, and frequently post about it. You are not expected to remember any of that, though. :)

lostinrates is asking you about mushrooms because it has been a big topic of conversation in the past. I am unusual among the NP in not falling fully into either camp: I quite like the little button ones but really can't stand the big black ones. We also have more than the average proportion of people who don't drink (including me) and people who are Jewish or married to Jews (not including me). But we are very good at accepting all comers, regardless of their views about mushrooms (or indeed alcohol or Judaism), providing they are happy to play nicely while they are in here. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    I'm in the anti-mushroom camp.

First to ask can have my share
