No one answered me when I asked about suitable wall lights to go over my desk
Sorry. Not my area of expertise. I too am finding that you get more response from the NP if you post "I am thinking of getting this one - what do you think of it?" than if you post "I want to find something along these lines, please make suggestions". But then I myself find it easier to comment on other people's suggestions rather than make any of my own, so I shouldn't be surprised!
I am now trying to research dining room curtains online. I have found a nice curtain selling website that does very reasonably priced curtains and will send up to 8 free samples of fabrics at a time, so you can look at them before choosing. I've just chosen 5 possibles for the dining room, some of which might also do for the spare bedroom, and let DD choose the remaining 3 samples of things she thinks might be good for her bedroom.
The builder phoned just before 8:00 this morning. He's supposed to be working his way down my mammoth list of small jobs gradually, mostly on Saturdays, for mates rates. However, he's running out of indoor jobs to do for his full price weekday customers, and today was pouring again here, so he thought he'd come and do a bit more of mine, since almost all of it is indoors. So now I have panel on the bath, and a loo roll holder, and grouting on the replaced tiles where the radiator was moved. Downstairs I have a door on the cupboard where the fuse box, electric meter and PV panel meter are. If it rains again tomorrow I might get my new light fittings in the playroom fitted.
Bonus good news for today is that DD has found the caravan keys, which have been lost for months.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Hurrah for caravan keys!
I think the other thing about taste questions is that we are all so different. The chances of me liking the same light as michaels are slim!, where as if you see a thing you can say why you like it, why not, and look for somethng similar but in you eyes better. Both silvercar and viva are very good at that i think.

So I put the house to rent for the Olympics thinking it would pay to have the decoration done but now I have interest for one week post Olympics - problem is it is only worth the whole deal if I rent it for at least 2 Olympic weeks as well so what do I do with the offer on 1 week?
What I want for the wall lights would be 3 spots on a bar but with a cowl in front so I could choose which bits of the big desk to light but the lights would be shaded from your eyes, but I can't seem to find such a light for sale
By the way I was only joking about no one replying before.I think....0 -

I remember the caravan! Did you manage to get inside it and see whether the fact the roof light was open had allowed things to get wet? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
