Any one know how hard it would be to convert old carriage lights into wall lights? Feasible or not?
    I'd have thought straight forward.

When we bought our TV the guy tried to sell us a £90 HDMI cable. He said it was better quality gold!

I suspect that it is the number of 1's and 0's that come through that matters.

The cheap ones perform just as well.

I needed 2 X 10m HDMI cables for a job. They were £60 each in Currys/ Comet but the £10 Amazon ones perform perfectly.

The flip side is it's only going to get harder for retail shops.

Is it going to make retail space less expensive ultimately? The internet? I mean, the shop floors for this sort of thing must be almost a liability now? I like shops, and somethings i really hate buying unseen.

I thought he had some affordable ones.... maybe I only saw those - and you only saw the pricey ones :)

Selective scrolling on both our parts.

Has Grand Designs run out of real people, who struggled to achieve their dream?

Tonight is a 30 year old woman .... she's an interior designer and is building her own home, even though she's never owned a home before.

Now let's look at the facts:

    - she's 30 and lives with her bf in her mum's house, from where she also runs her business
    - her mum/dad bought their house some years before then 'discovered' on the deeds that there was a building plot at the bottom of the garden
    - her dad had since died and so now she is going to build a house.
    - her budget is £390k, most of which is a mortgage as she's borrowed against her mum's house

Not quite the original GD MO is it....

I mean - if any of us were 30 and still living at home, with a free building plot in the garden, in the town where we lived/worked and wanted to be - we'd do it too.

Seems more like she's plugging her business as the house build/situation in itself isn't much of a wow factor.

I just took a break to watch Countdown. Any of you watch that? Nick Heyer was on top form today.

First he asked Rachel what does OMG stand for. There's a gulp on her part and a noticeable pause before she came back "Oh my gosh". Quick thinking there, as mustn't use the G word.

Second, one of the contestants was a prison officer. He was well in the lead, and after he won yet another round, Nick Heyer said "Another turn of the screw."

I guess the prison officer was lucky to have the day off today...I had to cross the picket line this morning and thought 'good, there won't be so much pressure on the hot desks today' but no such luck, my floor plate are clearly not greedy enough or may be it is just working with me they can see that the grass is far from greener in the private sector.

No one answered me when I asked about suitable wall lights to go over my desk :)
    I think....

I have absolutely NO idea what an hdmi cable and hdmi port are, or are used for, or why people in the NP thread seem to want/own them.

But... reading the end of Percy's post where he says "3d gaming at its best" I'm guessing it's a boy thing. I never really got any good at Space Invaders, so never do any gaming and have never seen any gaming.... if you live completely alone and have no friends, you never see other people doing/having stuff.
