We used to have maple syrup in school dinners... I can't remember what with though.... I do know it was gorgeous. Just prior to the old's demise, the old would religiously read the Tuesday Daily Mail health supplements... tear them out and keep them (never to read them again, so they were the first things in the bin) ... and after reading one the old decided to get maple syrup.... but when the old saw the price they wouldn't pay that much.... which is nuts now we've found out how much the old had in the bank. Govt's getting the lot now .... the old thought they'd left us all "well provided for" ... no, you left it all to your elderly spouse..... the old would have died of a heart attack if they'd known the Govt would get a penny of their money
Irony..... should have left your cash to us then.... frail old had enough of their own squirrelled away to pay for probably more years than they'll be using at a home, although you can never tell how long you'll be getting before your time's up.
The old should have spent £3 on a bottle of maple syrup .... would have only got through one bottle before they died anyway, so it wouldn't have bankrupted them.0 -
Talking of little and often... emptied the food cupboard stuff into a box and did a vacuum round.
I should take this PC apart and go onto the laptop, but I need to transfer across some files I might need ... so I'll see.0 -
Have you got one of those heat pack things? Either a gel one or the sort with wheat or something will do. When my neck was at its worst, a heat pack made the difference between being able to carry on with some semblance of normality and grinding to a complete halt. I remember being at work with a scarf holding the heat pack to my neck, faffing about at break and lunch heating the thing back up with a jug of boiling water.
Just got a hot water bottle.
Been up and moving in bits today but can feel it seizing up every so often.
Managed to make a roast duck dinnernow if i can sit up long enough to eat it.

I thought I got away with that! One glass of wine and I become quite brave. I am sober.
Pictures and a bit of an explanation of Planning and Wigs at the other place. I haven't posted a real picture of me on MSE in seven years.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I love maple syrup with homemade pancakes. Nigella has a wicked recipe for coleslaw that features maple syrup and pecans - works out pretty expensive for coleslaw but it's almost a meal in itself. Visitors love it, not just us.
Maple syrup never lasts long in this houseI'm not particularly bothered about bacon, if I had to be a vegetarian, it wouldn't be the thing I'd miss.

Hot water bottle, food, hot bath, aromatherapy smells, nice booze and a safe amount of drugs, so as not to overdose but fall into a cozy warm haze with the TV remote.
And a massage from someone that is good at it.
I'll give up yoga while you're off bootcampEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
