Fish and chips are even better but living in London... at uni we were told the supply chain from the fishing boats to London was really long compared with the rest of the country and the fish aren't great.
Some researchers had gone out on a boat, landed some fish, took the night train to London and got some traders to sell it and give feedback but the customers thought it was too bland. I won't take the explanation any further as I don't want to put anyone off thier food!Z, the story about London's fish & chips seems apochryphal or nonsensical to me, considering that:
London has a major fish market.
Even in the 1960s, we could order fish from Hull or Grimsby at 4pm on a weekday and have it here in darkest Devon at 7.30 am the following morning.

I might go to the other place in the next couple of days and tell you about the planning situation as it unfolds. DS just saw someone taking pictures of our cars and walking back down the road behind ours. I think it might be not be the car, but something to do with the drive perhaps. I guess we'll find out via the Planning Portal soon enough. So the weirdness begins...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

NP near St Albans's could visit the waffle house for very tasty waffles.

.
I'll confess the waffle house chain in America was a guilty pleasure when I lived there, particularly for 3am food after a big night out....
But a very different menu and concept.....

And I'm sure there was a promise of an orange wig pic as well....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

LL's family seem to have acquired a surround sound system.... there's been the booming sound that's just like raging storms and wars and boilers blasting full blast since yesterday..... boy that sound travels.0
