I don't recall ever being frisked, but individuals were certainly asked to turn out their pockets sometimes, with often very amusing results.
At the end of fifth form, many in the year would assemble on the field, put their caps in a pile, squirt lighter fluid on them and engage in a ceremonial burning. Maybe ties were included, but I can't remember.
We got to wear real clothes in 6th form, if we were rich enough, because that meant a suit. Most of us continued with the blazer option.0 -

Locker key had to be worn on a shoelace round the neck. Pursebelt with an emergency £1 (which I'd invariably spent on 20p doughnuts and had to walk the 5 miles home if I lost my buspass)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I seem to recall reading that (yet again, after the war) , librarians and primary teachers turned away from Enid Blyton's Noddy books not because of the crass imagery of anybody who looked different, but because he was spineless. His main response to every problem was to cry until Big-ears solved it, and they saw this as a pathetic role model.:rotfl:
1] Driving under age/without a license
2] Being homosexual as he slept with big ears
3] Lack of authority being shown towards the police

I thought griddle pans were a fairly standard size, but if the amount versus pan size is any thing to go by jamie's griddle pan is at least twoce and possibly four times the size of mine.

Jamie's pan WILL be 2-4x the size of yours because .... Jamie Oliver is one chubby bloke!
And look at that recipe.... it wants SR flour ... I binned mine yesterday.0 -
