Seeing two houses, left mucking out till later.
Do you take a tick list with you? Most people don't... although I think we all think we should.

I did extensive househunting with my sibling 12 years ago.... she was pursuing the impossible house, that was inappropriate for her situation; I managed to squash the dream on most of them. Then I found her perfect house and she'd have overlooked it if I hadn't been there - she bought it. It fit her entire requirements list -and- was in an area we'd assumed would be unaffordable, but we found one that had been an inheritance and had been tenanted with bad-paying tenants, so it went for a song (house 3 doors up went for 25% more within 2 months).
Dh is coming home. Its probably a bit sickening that having been togather so long (not sure hor long:o) i still get butterflies in my tummy when he is coming home:o. For all the difficulties living apart can bring, fridays usually make up for it, having the constant reminder of what ohysical responce of passion is, and how magical it is to have your heart held iin the hands by someone you love and trust. Any thing less is not worth it.
:( Yeah, I've never had that..... I do hate being an old maid, but the alternative was just to tag along with inadequate men until I was dumped - and so there's no contest.

Anyhoo, my bath is cooling down before i can get in it, which is another bonus, a properly hot bath. Oh yes, today is a good day!:T
    Hot bath :)

Oh how I miss having a bath. There is a bath where I am moving to, but in a house full of painful memories and so it will probably be used, but sometimes trying to relax in a house of memories just isn't possible.... need to keep my mind busy else it becomes unbearable.

You're such a c*** - anybody ever tell you that? Daft question, you must hear it all the time.

    It's a holiday - bl00dy enjoy it - and smile!

    An ungrateful c***

it is not my idea of a holiday. You travel to the airport and pay a fortune to park the car. You get to the airport 2 hours ahead of the flight, then you have 14 hours on the aeroplane, plus a scrum for luggage at the other end and a transfer to your destination. Overall, you are probably on the move for the best part of 20 hours, so you certainly need 72 hours at the end of it to unwind. Plus the jetlag. you are just getting over all that, when it is time to come back, repeat the 20 hour journey, and then be all chirpy at work the next day, as after all you have just had a relaxing holiday.

I simply detest long haul flights, as you may have gathered.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

No, not sickening. He's lovely, you love each other, his work keeps taking him away from you. Your response is perfect.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

quite a lot of people have told me that, repeatedly, so it is not news to me.

but i don't think i'm being one in this case.

loafing in your room is what holidays in tropical parts are all about for me - you get your own deck can sit there reading in peace in the sun, occassionally demanding room service, rather than sitting by the pool being bothered by other peoples' badly behaved children.

and also i'm pretty sure i'm not being ungrateful since i'm paying.

A good friend of mine used to live in Kuala Lumpur and would frequently holiday in Koh Samui and loved it. The resort looks like a lovely boutique-style hotel, but the way it described itself was trying a bit too hard to be trendy.

You've also left me wondering whether you are going for a room called The WOW, the The Cozy, The Grand or The Love. You strike me as someone who wouldn't like Cozy and may be ever so slightly allergic to the public display of affection that staying in the Love would imply, so hopefully you're going for the Wow or the Grand. All of them look lovely though.

Perhaps though, you are going to stay in "The Love" and beat your previous record of 72 hours. In which case I may say in advance, kudos to your stamina. For the sake of your enjoyment of your holiday time, I hope it is that, and not spending 72 hours in The Cozy sulking.

we have booked the cozy... :D the room looked a bit bigger and it was a bit more expensive so i presumed it must be better. also i was a bit freaked out by the "intimacy kit" that comes in the love.

i agree it looks like it's trying a bit too hard, and the stupid names grate on me a bit, but (i) it has only been open a year or so which means that everything won't be old and falling apart; (ii) the gym looks really good; and (iii) it's away from the beach and any sort of noise, I hope.

i don't really like beach holidays per se but only in the sense that i don't care whether there's a beach there or not. what i like is "not doing anything holidays". i doubt i will beat my record though, as i will have to go to the gym most days to counterbalance the number of puddings i intend to eat.
