i will break into one of the LOVE rooms and find out what it consists of and report back.
Oooooh,go on. That would be fun. What do they give you that is special in the cosy then?0 -
My last holiday was a week in a 1-bed flat on the top floor of a dated B&B in Cornwall, in 1995.... and I got the sofa bed. I paid half for this holiday.
The one before was a week in about 1993 a 3-bed house in Cornwall, which was a freebie as my sibling had booked it and was going and I just packed a case and jumped in the car.
The one before that was a week in a rented annexe in 1987, in Cornwall. With a bf, I paid everything - drove down through the night (he slept the whole journey) then started looking for handwritten notices in windows and had a word around and found somebody who had an annexe to rent but it wasn't advertised/booked as they were selling up, so I should try knocking on their door. Got it knocked down to £80. It slept 7, but was a very 1970s decor.0 -

it says it has some "egg shaped swing chairs" on the terrace, and its "own cocktail bar facing the sea". obviously there is the potential for this to actually be 2x uncomfortable deckchairs and a fridge with a couple of cans of smirnoff mule in it, but we shall see!0 -
I had a bit of a result this morning.....I have standing orders which go out on a Monday usually, this week they didn't go out despite having more than enough to cover (internal ones left, external ones didn't). Rang and spoke to them on Tuesday in case it was a glitch on the Monday and they said they would investigate and come back to me.
No call, no contact.
Sent a secure message very late on Wednesday night asking for some kind of solution and still no reply.
Called again today, apparantly their system beggered up but everything should be sorted now....and gave me £25 in recompense for my phone calls and general stress!
Never expected that to be honest, I just wanted to get to the bottom of what had happened with my standing orders...but it is a nice treat anyway. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Did I tell you about the time my wife flooded the hotel? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

There is no doubt a very crude reply that could be made linking this to your Amazon purchase history but I won't be making it.
On the other hand it is clear that LIR is not the only one with cuddly pets as the GDBs have a rabbit.Did I tell you about the time my wife flooded the hotel?I think....0 -
Just sorted out my clothes into "won't need for up to 2 years" and "will want, have worn recently, or will wish I'd got". I thought I had more vacuum pack bags too ... run out.
However - as I've not really bought clothes for donkeys years, upon moving regions my first job will be to go shopping for "a suitable outfit for an interview .... that actually fits" Out of my mismatched and assorted sized old clothes, that I've been dragging around with me for years, nothing is suitable, or matches/fits etc.
Getting a job when I move will be important as it will get me exposed to different areas and people's opinions of areas. I don't mind if I'm selling ice creams or temping, but I'll want to be going out to discover the area... and a job (especially temping) does that.0 -
it is not my idea of a holiday. You travel to the airport and pay a fortune to park the car. You get to the airport 2 hours ahead of the flight, then you have 14 hours on the aeroplane, plus a scrum for luggage at the other end and a transfer to your destination. Overall, you are probably on the move for the best part of 20 hours, so you certainly need 72 hours at the end of it to unwind. Plus the jetlag. you are just getting over all that, when it is time to come back, repeat the 20 hour journey, and then be all chirpy at work the next day, as after all you have just had a relaxing holiday.
I simply detest long haul flights, as you may have gathered.
So, so not how to do it.
Firstly, from where you are, it would be cheaper to get a cab (that specialise in airport runs) to and from the airport. Cheaper and far less hassle and ready to drive you home after your flight.
Then you need to save airmiles (linked credit card, Tesco points etc) and fly business class. So you would get:
1. Separate check-in desk, so no queuing
2. No weight restrictions
3. Pleasant wait in the airport lounge with free food, free wi-fi, newspapers, pleasant sorroundings etc
4. On flight: Very polite air stewardesses, better quality and more choice in food, china plates and metal cutlery, drinks and snacks on demand, high quality entertainment, storage space, seats that convert to flat beds, quieter cabin, first off plane.
5. In theory, your luggage should be first off the plane.
So you should arrive reasonably refreshed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I suspect it extends to body chocolate, champagne, fresh strawberries. Maybe even pink fluffy handcuffs.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
