I have a scheme where they are sent to me in the post, not quite online as I go into the opticians to get my eyes checked etc.
If this is the first time you are using contact lens I would reccommend that you join a scheme as you really need to get your eyes checked out after wearing them for a few weeks. A bit risky to buy online and have no-one look at your eyes IMHO. I'm part of the D&A/ Boots scheme. It doesn't cost much as I stop the scheme payments whenever I have too many lens at home.
Haven't we had this conversation???
Yes we have had that conversation. I was just wondering if anyone had experience of buying lenses online.
I have been trialling them for a full 2 months now and it's taken D&A/Boots this long to establish my correct strength.
I just don't think the guy is doing that good a job and it's very much trial and error.
I now feel we have established the correct strength but don't fancy another couple of months using them to trial different brands.
Eye tests are free up here and from what has previously been said, it doesn't seem like my local D&A are matching the service others (paying) on this thread have previously encountered.
I just wanted to try more brands before deciding what brand was right for me.
Anyway, I've purchased a different brand of my prescription from Lenstore to see how they do. :beer:0 -

Thats sort of what happens here, people are busy worrying about big dog, while dog dog gets round the back where the juicy mescles are.:D0 -
A quick one for you all: who is your favourite comedian?
Mine has to be the Irish comedian Dara O'Brian.
My wife is Irish, and I really love their self mocking sense of humour.
Here is a very good video of him talking about the differences between the English and the Irish:

We don't watch much (standup) comedy, but the ones I've seen and liked are Omad Djalili, Sean Lock, Jack Dee and Michael McIntyre.0 -
Mine is Kevin Bridges then Frankie Boyle amongst others0

All mine sound like a drunk Irishman doing a Scottish one 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Lots of good ones.... but I do often struggle with accents.
Did see a !!!!/appalling one the other night.... some girl. No idea who she was, but it was awkward and painful to watch.... good lines, just bad stage presence.
Some are like that- good writing , poor delivery. that's my problem with Russell. His stage persona is so over-the-top it swamps the humour of his lines (for me).
You can be too laid-back as well. jack Dee's the other extreme. if you're going to be as low-key as him you need cracking good lines- I wish he was more like Stephen Wright. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I pick up accents quickly when i live somewhere. My once very raw rp is now rather relaxed a lot, much to my parents disgust. Dh found it hilarious how quickly i tuned into the venician accent ( which i love, its like the place, sleepy, dreamlike and just a little drunk or trippy ). And i am sure my accent swinging from carribean to deep south drawl is what got me sent to uk for school. But if i try and do an accent i have no success whatsoever.0
