    Work tomorrow?

I went out freecycling this evening - did you see me, silvercar?

Saw a lot of cyclists Saturday, difficult to recognise people when they are wearing safety helmets.

My location was Central Park, New York. Where were you?

Yeah it's a shame we can't actually watch it though, due to the BBC's rather bizarre decision to hand back the exclusive rights to broadcast this season's races. Knobs.

Knobs indeed. Okay, maybe money needs to be saved here and there within the BBC, but to give up coverage of a sport which achieved viewing figures on average 5 million, with peaks (Silverstone) up to 7 million, is crazy.
More so when you see money is still available to send droves of reporters to Egypt so we can see George Alagayah interview Jeremy Bowen before we go live to Lise Doucet who is standing outside. Or to keep BBC 3 running filled with nothing but repeats.
What a morning, any one else wishing it was a duvet day?

So, did the gig go okay?

Yes it seemed to, they were only brought in as last minute replacements as a couple of acts had pulled out (it was a charity event with a few other acts) and in the end, they were the main act with the rest being supporting ones.

    They totally dominated the event.

There are still some mistakes but bearing in mind the lads are all 14/15 years old, 2 of them have Aspergers and they have only just started doing gigs, I think we can forgive them...although I did tell them that if they mess up G&R again, I will not be responsible for my actions :rotfl:

I think I had made them a lot more nervous (certainly my son) as they knew I knew every single guitar note, drum beat etc to both the G&R number and Iron Maiden number and would know instantly if they went wrong.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Did you notice it was a special extended version? They made a mistake and did a whole extra bit all over again...I was sat there thinking "Erm, can't sing this bit as it doesn't exist!"

Not that it made any difference, people still appeared to love it.

it's particularly annoying to me that the cost cutting exercise has involved binning half of the live races but not scaling back any of the production cost. the full team still goes out to every event and basically makes the same programme that they would if they were carrying the race live, and then cuts half of the race out.

if they did the highlights package as stripped back coverage with voiceover commentary done in a studio here, then i could understand this move as it would roughly halve the costs - but instead they have failed to make any cost savings on the most expensive part of the programming (the rights themselves being <25% of the total broadcasting costs IIRC). The commentary team still get their nice trip abroad for every race, and we get a pointless and irrelevant build up to an event which happened hours ago - who cares about that in a highlights show, it's ridiculous.

I expect this was done to stop people defecting to SKY but it kind of defeats the object of the exercise, and I rather expect that the cost of programming expressed in £/hour/viewer (which was the justification for the renegotiation of the original contract ending in 2013) has risen sharply, not fallen, not least due to the fact that I suspect that viewing figures will be down significantly.

Is this Formula yawn you are talking about?

I'm simply astonished anyone cares about this tired old format.

i think it was pretty dull for quite a few years but has got much better in the last couple of seasons.

what would the "young, fresh" alternative be? simon cowell running a competition for aspiring nitwits with a sob story about their dead hamster who have wanted to be an F1 driver for as long as they can remember, and who "really, really want this" because they're incapable of actually working for a living, due to being f3ckless wastrels?

anyway, it's still better than jason plato driving a volvo around a track about 8 times, slowly.

Yes I did but that just adds to a live show in my books.

Shame the lead had what looked like "technical" problems in the sweet child solo but it was all fab :T

My sig is from a GnR song though the girl may not fancy singing that one  :D

They should do more and put them up on youtube.

you could be mine, would be fab :j infact the whole of Appetite for Destruction :)

Have a look at Gauchos on youtube. I used to look regularly to see if they had done any new stuff. I think your boys are a bit more polished and Gauchos got millions of hits.
