I don't think my username needs explaining.....one of these days I will do something exciting!

    :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

sorry, i know there are a couple of GP fans on here and I'm having a rest in between working frantically, do you not find it quite offensive they are racing in Bahrain?

I would have hoped there would be a silent protest, like the drivers all going around at 50 miles an hour doing some laps rather than joining in all the shennanigans

Personally I'd rather they hadn't gone, like last year and that has long been my opinion. However F1 took advice and did go. They're there now and I hope the race goes off without a hitch, that they reflect on it afterwards and don't commit to go next year unless there has been a signicant improvement.

What I don't like is politicians bandwagon jumping and saying "oh they shouldn't have gone" when they said b*gger all in the run up and when they could have influenced things. That's when you know it is a soundbite to score political points rather than a deeply held conviction.

To give Damon Hill his due, he has long said they shouldn't be there. I sense Webber probably thinks the same which is why he hasn't been put up for interviews. If some good has come out of this, Bahrain human rights are now at the top of the news agenda, whereas it has been languishing in minor news columns in the middle pages of papers if it made the news at all.

I think we are talking way more about bahrain than we would have been had the decision been taken, especially early on, not to go.

I remember we had Easter brekky in the garden, puffing in glorious sunshine and Easter Monday we were dipping our toes in the sea. :o
Yes, for me, this weekend's exactly a year since the old got a diagnosis out of the blue saying "it's over". That day was a right scorcher, I remember the events in detail.

Beans on toast is the answer.

For lunch today I had 2 pieces of toast, half a tin of beans, two scrambled eggs. And 3 chocolate digestives :)

... You've been working hard all afternoon in the garden. Your tired and hungry so you go into the kitchen. You open your cupboard and all you have is 1 tin of Spaghetti, 1 tin of Beans, 1 tin of Soup and 2 slices of bread.

    What would you have?

I'd have Spaghetti and toast

This just never happens here. Ever. Banned from going out to shops i could cope, albeit with scurvy and not the most gourmet selection as weeks went on, from cupboards and freezers four weeks and probably months. Plus at this time of year nature gives back. Our garden grass has enough dandelions in it for salad for the summer, and the lime trees will be in leaf soon. Veg bed is pretty planted up so, if we could make it a few weeks on pea tops, beet tops and dandelions, there wuld be veg coming.

However, baked beans are Often just the ticket, and what i would plump for in this incredible world without hoarded whoopsies.

I am eating my way through my store cupboard for a while now as a lot of what was in it was going to go out of date - I will eat things that are outside of best before but I don't want them to do so for months/years. However I'm finding that my hoarding has a pattern. In the event of nuclear meltdown, I would have to live on spaghetti pomodoro for several months as it seems I have a habit of hoarding pasta, tinned tomatoes, passata and dried herbs. Nice, but so far its been 6 days on the trot - hence the yearning for, I have no idea why - spaghetti on toast. I think it has something to do witht the fact its in hoops and a different shape.

my view is that it's not for sportsmen and women to make political points. they are paid (a lot) by their employers in order to do a job, in this case that job involves driving a car around a race track.

it is up to the sport's governing body to decide whether the race should go ahead. in this case they decided it should, and so the drivers should do their jobs to the best of their abilities whatever personal misgivings they may have.

i'm not saying that the race shouldn't have been cancelled BTW, just that the drivers aren't responsible, and shouldn't be responsible, for changing the decision that was made to hold the race.
