Our undercounter fridge shelves have all broken,
I bought a replacement fridge shelf online the other Xmas, for the old (who had a split one held together with gaffer tape). I'll admit it was pricey, but I knew the old'd never find one to buy and one day the shelf would collapse and cause everything to fall out and smash on the floor in a big messy pile. I think, ordering one shelf, including P&P, worked out close to £10... but it solved a potential problem.

I was on holiday so maybe that's how that was so memorable.

It's weird how we remember some things so clearly, and yet barely remember others at all, or very vaguely if we do.

I've always wondered why that is, and what the process is for how the brain remembers some things so clearly but forgets others.

Yeah, we checked for replacements a while ago, no good i am afraid.

When we are more certain about kitchen design i can get a fridge. I half heartedly place a few low bids on ebay every now and then in the meant time.

This kitchen has 4 sockets: microwave, kettle, toaster... leaving one for the vacuum cleaner when needed.

Well, "kitchen" ... it's a sink base and two narrow cupboards 4' from my toes.

Oh - and two of those sockets are 2' from the sink... not sure if that's legal.

There are no checks on building regs and safety in rented places ..... it's only when you sell a place that anybody questions work that's been done.

    The brain is amazing.

What is ofd is since being ill and having to relearn language skills (no laughing out there at my 'skill' level) i lost my other first language. But, every now and then when i forget i have forgotten it comes back, words or phrases, or sometimes a bit more. When we went to paris i went in to a supermarket to buy the stuff we had forgotten and was happily chatting and apologising for not having smaller notes, then the guy said 'you have a bit of an accent, where have you been living whi
E you were put of france' and i had to stutter and stumble through school type french explaining i wasn't really french, be ause i was thinking about it. Its shameful to admit, but if dh had been there i wouldn't have even made any effort to try really.

Similarly i can sometimes remember my birthday and how old i am, other times ...no.

I have memories which are unshakable, and other things, in the last few years i rememebr them from the retelling, not the first event. Which is weird. I do not really remember dh asking me to marry him, but i know how it happened, because he told me (it was not romantic) so i feel as if i do.

I also seem to remember dh once saying something about breaking my neck, but he swears this never, ever happened:eek:
