Normally art doesn't do anything for me...but that one makes me feel peckish for something tangy and juicy. A peeled half orange like that wouldn't hang around long enough in our house for anyone to paint it
No one seems to be feeling my Rupert Grint avatar
No, the avartar doesn't suit you imo.
Thats a very nice thing to say about my half orange, thank you.0 -
My contact lenses trials are still ongoing. I haven't had any problems other than them using trial and error to establish what I should have despite them using all their equipment.
I will receive a pair of + 1.25s through the post to try for a couple of weeks and to sleep with them in the night before my next appointment.
Seems all drawn out considering my first appointment was on the 1st of March.
It's not a very scientific way of establishing things. I may well just get them online in the end where you can buy the day/night 30day lenses for under a £10er a month.0 -

You've not had a very good fitter then.
I am very fussy about my contact lens fitter, I normally interview them and explain to them what my problem is and see how they are like, most places will let you have a chat with the lens fitter for free.
I do have quite dodgy eyes though and wear gas permeable lenses0 -
£1k and £1500 to fell a few trees!
As posted elsewhere, we did four in a short day here and it cost £60. OK, they werent massive, just about 20', but I got a couple of tonnes of logs and 3 big dumpy bags of woodchip FOC from it.
The roots/stumps were something else. Needed a digger and I am still burning them, regularly.
I’ll do it for the cost of chainsaw hire and a tank of diesel (about £80), on condition I can take an S-Max full home with me!...I’ve got an open fire, so free wood would be lovely!💙💛 💔0 -

No, it's just ironic that a pre-nup can be considered romantic. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Doesn't seem very reliable. They should be able to gauge the correct strength there and then. Judging which manufacturer produces the most comfortable lens may be more tricky, but I would expect them to have samples in store. D&A (now Boots) give OH 3 (x2) packs to try of 3 different types and he trials them and reports back which is most comfortable.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Are you insured? Can you climb trees?
It does seem a shame to waste the wood. I'm now thinking it would be silly to pay the tree guy money to take the wood away, when freegle or the like would probably get rid of it free. But would people be prepared to carry wood 200 foot up the garden to get free supplies?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I did think that it belonged in two hubs....
I genuinely wrote that off the top of my head though. Ad hoc.
After michaels had said that, I did have a quick search to see if it was elsewhere (not that I would have cared), and couldn't find anything. Thanks for typing all of that out - it will definitely be useful0 -

YES.
I would have it professionally brough down and have people come and take the timber.
Oak in oarticular is a fabulous fuel, slow burning, i looked at it and shivered, thinking of how warm it would keep us! A cubic metre is worth over £100 for hard wood in fuel from a supplier, so many, many people would spend that in their man hours and petrol to collect it. As i say, were we closer it would be worth us hiring a trailer and coming to get it, so there will be people for whom it will be worth while.0 -

I'm certain we wouldn't manage all of it - we're only down for a couple of nights and there is the driving to get there in the first place but I'm sure we will go to at least some of those places - they sound like great suggestions. Here's hoping for some nice weather!0
