Who are we talking about? At first I thought it was Faulks, but he isn't prolific, he writes less than a book a year.
Yes him. Maybe he isn't as prolific as I thought. He appears to have been around a lot in the last year or so with his TV series and stuff. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hi yertiz. :hello:
The mushrooms thing was a discussion on a previous version of this thread. It's literal, not some obscure euphemism for something obscene or anything. Some of the NP adore mushrooms and others hate them.
Today the little laptop in my loft (the one that datalogs the panels) seems to have crashed and shut itself down at about 11:30 this morning. Do any of the NP know if there's any way I can find out why it did it? Thanks.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Oh well in that case, yum yum (always best to be a little cautious at first) and thanks for the tip LydiaJ
Sorry can't help with the laptop0 -

Some of the NP inexplicably like them.
The rest of us know them to be the abomination that they really are (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Just joined NPT - Found Debating House Prices and the Economy too stressfull:eek: I can see now why it was started, thank you.
Hi Yertiz.
I'm a relative newbie and might be the most recent joiner, seeing as how I've only been a poster for five months- it feels very welcoming, as if I've been here for longer which is a credit to the regulars.
The only rules I've detected are that -all discourse and criticism is calm, sedate. good-natured and good-humoured and we don't harrass or bully anybody.
Yeah I know that's probably a general forum rule but we're a seriously disparate and diverse bunch of townies/ countryfolk/ suburbanites English/Scottish/Welsh who're trying to get on and succeeding very well.
You certainly don't have to thank every post but I've noticed on average that most posters thank most posts. Some people return at regular intervals and others more rarely.
Occasional posters that turn up with Haley's comet tend to thank rarely as well.
We can post on serious things but maybe more often post on topics that seem trivial to outsiders but we're well-chilled about it and that seems to be the way we like it.

No, but I have a good idea why. There has been a solar storm since yesterday, the strongest in a decade, and a lot of technology has been mildly disturbed by it.
(A solar storm is where the sun sends a lot of radiation towards the earth, it is not dangerous, but it does mean computers don't always work as well as normal.)“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

One of the cats wanted out at around 02.30 and I noticed a strange lightness in the sky to the northern horizon.
Definitely odd, but also not green, or even greenish. It was pretty cloudy out there so I'm not sure what I saw. Usually the town to the north gives me orange, or nothing at all on lowish cloud nights..
No sound of coc kerels either. There are some in the valley that go at it all night, on and off. :rotfl:
That reminds me, two more pheasants on the door handle yesterday. :oWill this never end?0 -

I really hate the new martin lewis picture. Why, why,why have a picture cross armed in a crumpled shirt? Didn't his mother ever tell him not to cross his arms? Its sort of the opposite of the help ful message i thought the site wanted to portray.0 -
When you are as wealthy as Martin, you can wear what you darn well please! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
