Hair? - Naturally wavy, if it gets too long, I end up with ringlets. If I want it straight, I use the hair dryer whilst brushing it straight. I also have some grey hair which is covered with hair dye (the boys were calling me two stripes up until last week)

A haircut is long overdue, it's been a year since it was last cut.

Not much to report here apart from youngest purchased his own mobile phone yesterday...poor lad almost had a breakdown handing over his hard saved pounds, he hates spending money.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

silly question, i need to lose about a stone but i am dead lazy. I love to eat and hate exercise.

Does anyone think joining a gym with personal trainer for 3 months would be helpful?

My husband had a personal trainer for about 6 months, the plan being that he would see them twice a week and do stuff by himself other days. Except he did not do stuff on the other days.

The best organised exercise I have ever done and liked doing, was Cardiac Rehab . A supervised gym class for 'unfit people' who did not wear lycra.

The most effective also being a rehab acivity - walking 3 miles a day - and wearing a pedometer to ensure I did at leat 10,000 steps.

I need to move more and eat less, as I should also lose a stone.

Perhaps we should organise "nice people's biggest loser".

Can anyone help me with contractors' estimates, please? We are constructing two flats at my old office. 2-beds each. we have had quite a range of quotes, and there is one more still to come in. One of the quotes has included over £30,000 for the electrical work, which seems extremely high to me. Apart from my gut reaction, one of the other quotes included £12,500 for this element.

What is the best way of getting the £30,000 element in the quotation reduced? Can we insist on having our own electrical contractors, for example? Obviously, that causes all sorts of issues. I am rather assuming that the contractor who quoted the £30,000 simply got a quotation from a sub contractor and added something onto it. Should we be asking him to get a different subcontractor to look at it?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I have no idea about the lego. Bletchley Park would have had no use for me at all.

Can I have some more details? How big is the building and the resulting flats? Where? How detailed is the contractors breakdown? I'll pull it to pieces if you'd like.

I'm supposed to be pricing up a kitchen extension but I'm still wrestling with this blog. I have written the words, still need to sort floorplan which was next on my list before retaking pictures of black turds and life savers. :D I'd love to be distracted.

    Here's a good one.
See if you can get what this is...

I've never seen that before. Had no idea, then I worked out one, then another, and suddenly I know all except the last one, which still escapes me entirely but should be easy if you know, I guess.

    Good one, LJ :)

    Hahahaha

After LNE died, I suddenly had both kids (injured, bereaved and ultra-needy) on my hands all the time - no weekends or Tuesday night sleepovers with Daddy any more. I was working 2 part time jobs and being executor for an insolvent estate with no death certificate, besides clearing LNE's rented house, house hunting on my own account, buying and moving, and of course beginning the litigation process for the compensation claim.

I was finding it hard to cope with everything, and my friends sat me down and told me in no uncertain terms that with my widow's pensions coming in (as well as my salaries and benefits, natch) I could afford a cleaner and they were going to insist that I got one. I submitted to their superior wisdom and have never looked back. :)

She charges me £13 a week for 2 hours of cleaning, and she keeps me sane, so it's definitely worth it. I ask her periodically if she wants to put her prices up and assure her that I would still be happy to employ her if she did, but so far she hasn't taken me up on it. She tells me what she needs and I provide all the materials and equipment that she uses.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Are you seriously suggesting that was all that on your plate, all you needed was a cleaner, rather than a spell in the Priory? I have no idea how you managed, even with a cleaner.
