It’s this colour currently, although can’t vouch for it staying like that!

Are you Philip Schofield? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
silly question, i need to lose about a stone but i am dead lazy. I love to eat and hate exercise.
Does anyone think joining a gym with personal trainer for 3 months would be helpful?
The only pounds you'll lose will be ££££!It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I now have cucumbers sprouting!:j
So, just over 3 weeks in, I have peas (about 50% of what was sown), some beetroot, lettuce & now cucumbers sprouting.
Still nada from the tomatoes.
Carrots & onions only went in a week ago. 2nd carrots batch will be planted later this month.
I'm about due to plant the next batch of toms & lettuce. I've decided to plant another batch of peas too, inspired by the pea-love on here, but also cos I love em & can't wait!
Going to gete everything indoors tonight! Lovely morning, but it felt chilly last night & snow/sleet is forecast...:eek:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I should say that this is based on years of seeing people who have signed up to contracts with gyms for one reason or another. The vast majority of these people are tied into contracts when they simply won't use it.
From another angle, I've always been perplexed by a cycling machine that goes absolutely nowhere, or machines on which you run or row, without moving anywhere. Things like that have always struck me as bizarre!
I am one of those who loves the journey. So why not run round a beautiful park? Or cycle town a pretty cycle route/disused railway line? Or row on a river?
I can't see the point in running 5 miles & going nowhere.:undecidedIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

My trainer and i always started with running one of ther routes i did without him the other days of the week. Not only to warm up for the real work, but for him to crtique my approaches ( physical and in attitude ) to things like inclines, and to help push me harder than i wanted to push myself.
If you apfind keeping fit hard its a good idea to have a way to do that when its too hot/cold/rainy/dark to help your motivation. Otherwise i agree, a gym is not my idea of fun.0 -

I hope some of that rain comes this way. Garden is dry as dust and the butts are empty.
Don't forget, SE NP's...hosepipe ban comes into effect the 5th. Well, I haven't heard anything to the contrary, so I suppose it does.
Yes Dave, fully agree about putting on the kilos after 40. Before 40, I could eat whatever I wanted and still keep my Adonis like body, but lately been putting on the flabTried the gym for a while but that just made me more hungry.
And I haven't used a comb nor shampoo for the last 15 years or so, so I skipped that bit of the thread.0 -

First one gave it away, but I can't do them all!
Right, I'm off to get some real creosote. Don't tell LE, lir!!!:o0 -
I can do five of them, but I've seen them before on facebook.
Just caught the cleaner unplugging the extension cable in order to plug the vacuum in instead. This probably explains most (if not all) of the episodes when the obsolete laptop in the loft (that monitors the solar panels) has switched itself off during the day. Its battery is shot to pieces and once unplugged it can only stay on for a few minutes before dying. Have now suggested an alternative place for her to plug the vacuum in, so all should be well now.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
