I have to be inside today because I am trying to get my head in the zone to tackle three upgrades and some new installs.... and I've just been away for 4 days at the old's house with a sibling, which is a very psychologically intensive experience.... need to lie down in a quiet/dark room for 2 days really.

It's sunny outside, beach/sea looks lovely .... but the guilt of not doing the upgrades prevents me from walking out and down there.

We have the digger man in, (a six monthly event) so
I'm driving a big dumper :D, when DW lets me :o.

Otherwise, it's grovelling around in soil, as usual, and pushing a barrow. :(

How about swap in winter when there is no heating here? The cold side of my house feels deliciously cool today. The lounging in the sun is simewhat tempered for many by the early starts and late finishes. Pefect time of year atm......not too early, not too late.....and i am defrosting.

I managed to finally fathom out the overly complex upgrade... I knew it'd be simple when I cut to the chase, it's just "they" made it painfully complex.... involving watching a video (I have no speakers, so needed to fire up my laptop to watch that) and having watched some very clumsy video and very poor narrative it condensed down to: Just copy everything over, except 3 files.... and load up the admin page again. I do hate all these video-only lazy ways of people presenting information.

Anyway - upgrade worked, but it's American and so the £ isn't displaying properly - so I've had to lodge a support call to them. Bl00dy furreners, eh!

    Ggrrrrr.

Our tender package went out to all the buiilders we had shortlisted, including the chaps we have had doing the stuff up til now. The other builders had all heard we had had the pne firm in to do the emergency wall repair and the cheese room stuff and have now declined to tender.

So, we have either to start searching and meeting new people, go to people we had decided for one reason or other not to short list or just have the buiilders we have had put a price on it. I am not happy with option two or three, which only really leaves us with option one. :(

    whahhaaaa...that made me laugh :)

The job itself is not that bad actually. It's very quarterly driven though and that does my head in.
Time to read the whole internet in January & February, and absolute mayhem in March.
But hey ho, I shouldn't complain. It pays the bills.

What a backward mentality the employer suffers from. If it were me I'd have annualised hours contracts, so you work your nuts off during busy times and have loads of time off when you're quieter.
