Too far North for my liking.

One that you may be good looking into to Sochi before it gets too expensive.

What are the rules on foreign property ownership - could you get in now very cheap or is it already the case that the Russians have bought up all the good stuff?
    I think....

You can find some of the properties here. I’ve not used their services, but I do know that they deal with most the expats. As such, I can’t recommend and am not advertising.

There’s one on the market in Vake (Tbilisi) at the moment which is directly next door to ours, with the business unit underneath again directly next to our Tbilisi office. These are $450000 and $550000 respectively.

A small-ish apartment can be had in Gldani for as little as $40000, in good condition.

Georgia is definitely becoming more tourist-y, as I recall a British family laughing at me shouting (rather loudly) at a lorry driver in Georgian. Hitting my car wasn’t nice :(

Nice photos gen! Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts about DD. She's not in any pain at the moment, this was a routine appointment for a scan today to follow on from a couple of weeks ago when we took her to A&E. Very relieved it's kidney stones and not something more intractable.:T

Lots of people have things lurking inside them that they don't know about and possibly won't cause a problem, it is a worry when you don't know if a problem will surface.

Bit of a bittersweet weekend for me, yesterday would have been my 22nd wedding anniversary and all I could think of was of all the plans we had and the memories of the years past. In all, we would have celebrated 25 years together last month.

Hmm, don't think I have really moved on......the pang gets worse every year, not better.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

It looks like that/better where I live.... but it's not hot in the UK - and down here it's hellishly windy. Wind is the prevailing weather... lots of it ... every day. Drives me nuts.

... yep... as we found out last year when my old found out they were terminal just weeks before they went. No idea..... in fact, it was only 19 days before the end that we pretty much got the "tried the drugs, they didn't work, nothing we can do" diagnosis.

I tried to learn Russian once. First evening class was closed "lack of interest", so I changed to another one 2x the distance and that was also closed down.

I can pronounce Russian words (letter by letter, as opposed to how they're supposed to sound) when I see it on the telly, or online. I find a lot of words, when said, sound the same as English.

I can say stuff like: hello, my name is ..., thank you, beetroot soup (can't see a need for that though!).

This was all about 30 years ago.

The previous occupants took all the pllastic bits that ruin on the tracks, so where we have not been able to cobble togeteher, like in those two ropoms, we have had to improvise.
It's easy enough to make these in metal.... I could make them in, say, copper or bronze. All you do is make yourself a "form" so that you can repeat the pattern exactly.... then get the right thickness wire and bend it round (needs to be soft wire). Then you harden the wire by hammering it with a leather or nylon hammer.

Obviously .... that's a lot of faff and making that first form could be challenging... it'd end up involving you hammering nails into bits of wood and trialling about 10 or so to get it right.

    Pegs work :)

...did not realise Mothers day was so near.

Mother's Day has always annoyed me .... I think it should move to a different month every year.

For those that have birthdays in the first part of the year you end up with Xmas, then a birthday, then mother's day .... then nothing at all until next Xmas. For present givers, you already wracked your brains at Xmas, birthday came too soon to really come up with anything else/great, then it's s0ddin' mother's day.
