Our new village pub has good food, nice flatwhere and serving dishes , proper napkins and sometimes white table cloths. I should love it, but its lacking soul. I think if i went twice a week for a few months it would start to feel more familiar to me which would do instead of soul, but...can't be bothered.0

I could make macaroni cheese if only I had: macaroni, flour, milk. I've only got cheese.....
I think I've still got some sprouting spuds (ex Xmas leftovers) .... could whip up a cheesy mash and beans.
I'll look once I get far too hungry to keep putting it off.
Income today's only £8, so feeling poor ... so won't be getting chips.0 -
Worth every penny in my books, to have a special experience.
Next time splash out on a posh hotel too, to lengthen the full "posh" experience.

I'd not be able to enjoy a meal that cost as much as a week's holiday in a caravan would cost me!Worth every penny in my books, to have a special experience.

Heck, as I can't even afford a week's holiday in a caravan, I know where I'd spend the money

You can still have a special experience on a budget though PN, last mothers day, James gave me money to treat myself to a meal out...we went to an all you can eat Chinese buffet (£4.99 a head) and it was the best Mothers day I have ever had.
Because one of my sons treated me to it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
There's that little word again "we". Eating out alone is no fun.You can still have a special experience on a budget though PN, last mothers day, James gave me money to treat myself to a meal out...we went to an all you can eat Chinese buffet (£4.99 a head) and it was the best Mothers day I have ever had.

And chinese buffets round this way at £9, not £4.99. And they're only in winter - and a 20 mile round trip.0 -
I couldn't be bothered to look to see how dire the spuds had got... discovered an unopened packet of Value Dried Fruit in the cupboard (I obviously intended making a spotted !!!!!! that I never got round to)... so I've tipped some of that into a little plastic pot and am scoffing that

Meal cost is probably 4p

I was going to treat you to dim sum in london ages ago when we were talking about it here but then you revealed you dislike crucial ingredients.0 -

I'm picking my next town.... and it's scarey really. Randomly having to pick a destination, having never been there. How do you know if you're in a crack den area?
It's got beaches and railways and shops and stuff. Should be good. Rents are high though; have to get one of those jobs malarkeys.0
