Had the very embarrassing 'I know I have been here for 2 months, told you it is great and now you have confidence in me and sorted out a 3 month contract extension but actually I've had a better offer and will be leaving at the end of the month after all...but don't forget to ask for me again in future if you have a requirement' conversation at work today which was a little stressful and entirely the fault of my boss who wants to have his cake and eat it.
Still it is good to see LJ back.
Any ideas for DD 7 who is really rather rude and naughty but then if punished does the 'you don't love me, no one in this family likes me I don't mean to be naughty and now I'm going to cry myself to sleep' routine? I don't think the remorse is manipulation, I think she is genuinely upset about her behaviour but at the time she doesn't seem to be able to stop herself.
We have a 250gb usb powered one on the Wii - very useful for storing back ups of games so DKs don't need to go anywhere near the CDs. WE also have a 1tb powered one that links to a USB port on the modem router providing network storage. Never had any trouble with either. WE also run one PC as a file server 24/7 with another 2.5tb of various drives in it but still never have enough storage. Sadly because of the Thai floods an extra 2tb has gone up from £50 to about £80I think....0 -

Now we've got lj back, what happened to gdb and ndg?
I have been sneaking around the members list and they have been around but not active. I really miss Cleaver (not logged on since January) and Dopester (not since last November):(.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

What on earth is Will Young doing on question time, jibbering nonsense? Would still make a better govt minister than Eric Pickles mind...0

My DD can be like that too. I find it difficult. What I try to do is lots of love and hugs and "I love you" and "Because I love you I want you to be happy when you grow up, and that means I have to help you to learn to behave." She may not be willing to believe it in the heat of the moment, but when said often enough I think it eventually begins to sink in a little.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I'd have remained well off and posh if I had stayed married....being on benefits was certainly not a step up in income for me, it was a downgrade by approx 40k a year! Goodness knows what it would have been now as he was in line to take over the whole business so his boss could retire and I was in line to be manager at my company.
Oh well, it's made life 'interesting'
I’d hate to think what would happen if I were to be divorced (even as drunk as we are tonight, thanks mum for having the kids).
As I think we’ve already established on a thread, far away, our finances are a mess at the moment, and even though we have money, neithr of us know where it is
It’s amazing what you find when going through old bank statements, and even more amazing what you thought you never had, which in our case made us millionaires. The only problem is that the money is scattered across 3 countries with about 12 different banks involved.
We will get there in the end!

PasturesNew wrote: »I know that feeling.... I put it into banks a few years ago and I've a folder of bank stuff but haven't yet got round to working out where it all is... and I need to move it about really, get it down to just about 7-8 accounts; I think I have about 20 at the moment (some with £1 in).
I have an account with £1.04 in it. I opened it with £1, and then its interest rate dropped, or some other bank's rate went up, or something, and I never used it properly. It's earned 4p of interest over the last few years. I am clearly now rich as a result.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I've only got one current account and one savings account. I can't bloody access the current account now because that stupid security calculator has broken. Great. Thanks very much, added security. Almost as good as when they cancelled my card in Australia when i tried to draw cash out of my account and proudly announced to me they had saved me from an Australian fraudster (despite the fact I phoned them and told them I was going to Australia).0
