If any nice people have an opinion on external hard disk drives, I've asked a question on the techy board.
The problem is that the answers all contradict each other and the acronyms are strange. I've worked out that PSU is power supply unit and means its powered by being plugged in rather than powered off the computer. That's my limit.
Mine was a cheap one from ebuyer and it is powered entirely through the USB. It's tiny, it doesn't need it's own socket, it works.
Nothing more I could say.

Have I missed anything?
Anyone want to summarise the past 2 months for me to save me trawling through pages & pages of guff?:)
Woohoo! :j
Welcome back lemonjelly. So glad you're back with us, although sorry to hear you've been [STRIKE]decapitated[/STRIKE] incapacitated. Are you OK now, or are there continuing effects?
What's been going on here, you want to know? Well, we've spent a lot of time discussing incredibly important things like how much thickness of duvet each of us likes to sleep under, and whether our requirements are compatible with those of our spouses. We've also spent some time on comparatively trivial details like chewy's job interview and Doozer's new job. (Only joking, chewy & Doozer)
We've been considering lir's building work, which seems to consist of pulling down large parts of her house and having a loo with a 360 degree view both into the house and outdoors. She's also been making cat stew... or not.
Pastures has been continuing to deal with her old but also giving a little thought to what she might do in the future. Wheezy's had a birthday and a couple of new NPs have joined. Sue posted a link to footage of one of her sons being in a band over at the other place.
We've talked about teddy bears, water meters, meteorites, smutty emails/PMs, school catchments, supermarkets, vacuum cleaners, lampshades, nail varnish, painkillers, sandwiches and phone boxes. And some other stuff...
Oh, and we've all been asked to try to start or contribute to a few threads on the rest of the board, so it isn't just the trolls and sockies.
Does that help?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I agree. I'm looking for a new one as my HD is now a lot bigger since new laptop. However my last one was a Maxxtor and I didn't like the software that came with it which I found a bit clunky. The drive itself was fine though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
