Anyone want to summarise the past 2 months for me to save me trawling through pages & pages of guff?:)
Welcome back!
We should all listen to this triumphant song at full blast to celebrate lemonjelly's return!
The good nice peeps were worried you'd discovered a thread for even Nicer People and were giving us the body-swerve.

If any nice people have an opinion on external hard disk drives, I've asked a question on the techy board.
The problem is that the answers all contradict each other and the acronyms are strange. I've worked out that PSU is power supply unit and means its powered by being plugged in rather than powered off the computer. I've had good luck with both Seagate and Western Digital. If it were a tie-breaker Seagate make some of thier drive equipment in the UK; dunno about WD.
The USB issue is that older USB sockets couldn't supply power to peripherals like hard drives or transmit info very fast to and from them. Don't think that applies in your case.
I'd be tempted by a portable one that runs off the computer - just more usable I think. I've just had a nosey around places I know are cheap but reliable and I think you've found some of the best bargains you'll find. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
