If you don't plaster for now and then hate it, you could always plaster later.
You do have a lot going on, exposed beam and painted brickwork, so it depends how well it looks or detracts from whatever else is in the room.
Thanks, excellent advice. One can do more with ease, but undoun work done is harder!0 -

As brick colour brick?
Tbh, not a massive fan of exposed brick and stone au naturel, but know loads of people are and appreciate that. I have to live with it elsewhere, like the inglenook. I think that whole wall might be rather domineering as brick coloured brick. Worth applying the silvercar principal too though potentially.:)0 -

i'd knock the whole lot down and draw up some plans for a monstrosity that was 98% steel girders and glass, probably with an enormous indoor pond full of rare tree frogs. then i'd ring up grand designs.0 -

It might be, or just a bit more. The truss bit is about 88 inches (i checked because they built it out doors and i didn't think it would fit through the door) which is what, seven feet? My dadd couldn't reach the ceiling when we had one, and he is six feet.....my guess is somewhere between 14 and 18 feet:D. I will check the drawings at some point.0 -
I'd go with what your planning lir
Point n patch any crumbling bits and paint it.0 -
