I wouldn't take it during the day. I think I had diclofenac for daytime painkilling, which was reasonably OK. Codeine is strictly a night time painkiller for me.
I was also prescribed diclofenec a few months ago for excrutiating hip bursitis, I couldnt walk or sit unaided and had to sleep on my back. It took a while but after about 3 hours of taking them they started to take effect. Such relief! I still had some pain for about a week but gradually subsided and I carried on taking them 2 weeks in all. I now do some exercises for prevention and so far it hasnt returned. I sympathise with all you neck, back, ankle, leg sufferers out there and wish you better soon.0 -
I have a friend and her kids staying for a few days for half term. She enjoys helping me sort my house out!
Today we have:
1) Bought a bin to go under the sink in the kitchen, and fitted it. (It's one of those ones that opens when you open the cupboard door.) This will replace the big bin that will need to be put out of the way once the hole in the laminate in the hall is fixed and the freezer can come in from the conservatory.
2) Chosen a light fitting to replace the broken one in the kitchen (but not bought it yet - will see if we see any we like better tomorrow before finalising the decision). It's from B&Q but they don't seem to have a pic on the website. Imagine this bar with these lights on it, and that's approximately what it's like.
3) Ordered two of these for the dining room. lostinrates, I hope you approve!
4) Considered buying a shoe rack for the hall, and decided it would be cheaper to use one of LNE's bookcases instead, so brought it in from the garage.
5) Mended the broken bookcase (used for DVDs/videos rather than books) in the playroom.
6) Removed the broken DVD rack in the playroom and replaced it with another of LNE's bookcases, and rearranged the furniture a bit to allow for the difference in size.
7) Unpacked a box of LNE's kitchen stuff that was in the garage. Some of the stuff has been incorporated into my kitchen, and the toaster, blender & sandwich toaster are going in the loft until mine break down, when I'll have free replacements waiting for me.
Tomorrow we hope to make further progress. I am feeling very encouraged. I do actually like doing this sort of thing, but only with somebody. I find it very hard to get motivated to do it on my own. This particular friend gets a perfect balance and manages to give me enough input to help me think through what to choose, without choosing for me. Also, her kids are older than mine, so we can leave the four of them together and get on with stuff in an efficient, grown-ups-only sort of way.
PS I do have lots of bookcases with books on as well as bookcases used for DVDs, shoes etc!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
When you are done would you mind sending your friend round here for a cople of days, we could really use that sort of help and motivation.I have a friend and her kids staying for a few days for half term. She enjoys helping me sort my house out!

And when she has finished a michaels place"..........
I HAVE to get some order here. I am naturally a messy person, but also with a love for deep and logical orderliness. Dh comes through the house like a tornedo, and i just give up. Fighting my own messiness is one thing, his too is too much! I can live with mess to a degree but dirt, no. The house has reached the state where its hard to clean because of the mess. Still, just in time gor spring cleaning to start reassurung me that this state cannot be too abnormal as otherwise spring cleaning would not be so accepted.
Its just getting up the enthusiasm to start the job now! One room at a time.0 -
I have to sort out the study. Currently it is full of stuff that has no place being there and no place being anywhere else. Half the stuff is "put it in the study til I decide whether to dump / eBay/ keep" the other stuff is all my business paperwork and all the household paperwork.
A new storage unit should arrive this week, by which time the junk has to be cleared and the old paperwork sorted. Ideally I will separate into two halves and keep my work stuff separate.
All because the smart new desk now needs smart furniture to match it and a tidier room.
How much household paperwork do NP have? When we first set up home I had one little A4 folder, I know seem to have a cupboard full.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. To much! We have a two drawer filing cabinet ..the bottom draw is stuffed and overflowing of house stuff, the top draw is full of nomral stuff. So, we need more storage than we have for it, four drawers should hopefully contain it all. We also have boxes of old paperwork we are sorting and bishing.
Something i hope to get in to a routine of now is the regular destruction of paperwork no longer needed. No need to keep bills for more than three years, right?
One of the things dh got rid of this wekend were some more law conversion course notes and outdated student law stuff.
One opf the terrible things to go through was my mils paperwork. She had kept every receipt...even for a sandwich in the seventies, and drycleaning in the sixties. It was truely daunting for her children and husband to go through. Even worse, she had also kept all her mothers paper work..and other stuff.... After the first box the novelty pof old receipts or incoices wears off, and is simply depressing not interesting.0 -
Far too much paperwork here too and a lot of it has to be kept as it deals with the boys problems....and of course, some of their momentos from playschool, nursery etc.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

All paperwork that needs to be kept is thrown into a flat reed basket on top of a wardrobe.
When the pile becomes too high, I sit down with a hole puncher and file it away in a couple of A4 folders.
Mrs. Wheezy is a document hoarder, she would keep 7 year old leccy bills. " We might need it some day!"0 -
Morning all. Am back from docs. They are hoping that I just have a bad back strain, but the numbness could also be a slipped disc or a small fracture. Have been told to manage pain with codeine for now, if it persists then MRI/x-rays to check for something more serious (they didn't offer immediate referral and stuck in post, my sense is that they don't have the money any more so hoping I won't need). I'm hoping that a bit of rest and I'll be right as rain in a day or so.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
