I’ve just had the dubious pleasure of seeing on the news a grown man earning vastly more money than most of us for doing a job most people would regard as a game and a thoroughly enjoyable living, behaving like an immature spoilt brat on national TV. Right or wrong, nobody in the public eye should throw their toys out of the pram like that.
I’m reminded of the comment a reader wrote into a Glasgow newspaper about a millionaire who was always throwing his weight about.

Long day today....
Had a horrendous night last night with very little sleep as a problem from before Christmas reoccured, thank goodness the date for my procedure came through this morning (for next Saturday! EEkkkkk!).
Anyway, had to be up at silly o clock this morning to get middle son around to his friend's house for band practice, at least we were sensible and moved the drum kit yesterday. Then back here for a short while, then take youngest to his friends...I then had some chill time, so went to see a friend for a few hours.
Then the rush started, picked middle son up to take him and his kit to the venue where the competition was held tonight for a sound check. Finish the sound check and pop round to my parents to pick something up, then straight onto pick youngest up from his friends and home.
Did their dinner in super quick time, had a bath, transferred some video of their soundcheck onto the lap top and then back in the car to get to the venue.
It went well (it was like a local take on a famous band show on telly) and the judges were very complimentary, especially about middle son's ability but alas, they did not make it through to the finals. But it is all good experience for them and bearing in mind this is their first public performance outside of school and two of them have Aspergers, they coped brilliantly.
Blooming cold here, was cold last night too and my joints are really really feeling it now, I am as stiff as a board! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hi all - I am still with you, just been very busy the last week or two. I'll try to catch up!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

as if to make a point to me, my back has completely given out. fine lying down, or standing up, but anything in between is agony. it has got me out of going to the supermarket though, so i should be thankful for that. codiene delivery is on the way...0 -
Hi peeps. It's a trapped nerve in back, need to go to docs tomorrow. Nothing more serious (I think) because 1) I'd lifted a box awkwardly before it went and 2) I've had the same before - have weakness there due to old horse riding accident. Thanks for codeine recommendation chewy, nothing else was touching it but got some today. Still not back on line for long though as not comfy.
Note to self: buy at least one boneless bra as everything else hurts like .... .Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

DW and I have been watching an old DVD this afternoon - Whitney Houston in the Bodybag.
As I'm being all not nice people I'll get it over in one hit...
A few snowflakes fluttered down this morning and I said 'Look kids, Whitney just sneezed in heaven'I think....0 -

Codeine's the very thing for back pain (or strong toothache for that matter). It was discussed over at the "tougher thread" where they were talking about how you need to take it after food, as well as reminiscing about the other drugs they used to use like cocaine for travel sickness.
It sounds like they're looking to limit its use as (who would have guessed it) it's potentially addictive as it's an opiate, so you might get questioned by the pharmacist if you keep going back for more. And rightly so!
Lots of folk I know with back pain eventualy end up at the chiro or osteopath - seem to feel better after even if they just think it's placebo (but don't skip seeing the conventional doc whatever you do). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
So cold last night that the bottle of (drinking) water in the car had frozen solid.
Its now above zero, hoping that is the end of the icy spell. I went for a walk earlier, how come you exercise different muscles when you walk in the ice/snow? Aching in different parts now.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Codeine was the only thing that would even begin to touch the neck pain I had a few years ago. Didn't need it at all after the first treatment with the chiro, and all fine after the 3rd treatment. (Well, fine for another couple of years, anyway.) I have the McTimoney sort of chiro, & if you're sure your back/neck pain is just stuff slightly out, rather than a symptom of something else, then I really recommend it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
