So cold last night that the bottle of (drinking) water in the car had frozen solid.
Its now above zero, hoping that is the end of the icy spell. I went for a walk earlier, how come you exercise different muscles when you walk in the ice/snow? Aching in different parts now.
Tofl, the water in our car dor has been frozen every time i have been in there diuring cold spell. I bought a bottle of wine for the store cupbpard and forgot to bring it in, the cold won't have helped that much, but otoh, not that much warmer in side so not optimum wine storage with changing temps in the house.
You also get better exercise value from walking a little slower than you are used to....just not the sMe cardio value. Changing speeds and length of step Works you in a different way.

Our troughs didn't thaw but the hose did, so we turned water on, refilled with hoses from the feed room taps and then turned everything off again just in case.0 -
I can't take codeine, it doesn't like me very much plus I didn't much like the drugged up feeling I got from it, I like to have a clear head to drive as I can't rest even when it is suggested by the doctor.
I did think about posting up the link to the band's performance last night but wasn't sure if it was against the rules, so haven't.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Ours went on and stayed on, but I had to replace one washer. Still, one out of ten's not bad.
It's raining here and the ten day forecast says no frosts.
My super fast tomatoes are up, and I think it's the right time to sow the peppers too.:D We've just eaten the very last of the Christmas toms, so actually bought some yesterday. The last of the peppers have also gone mouldy, so unless I count a few jalapenos, those are done as well.
It's the Hungry Gap folks. Parsnips, leeks and squash are still plentiful, though....and we are seeing a surplus on the egg front too at last.
For those of you with painful backs, my DW tried many people before discovering a physio who specialises in sports injuries. She proved by far the best for managing DW's condition.0 -
If you are sure other parents sould be ok with it you culd also do it elsewhere sue.

Where is LJ these days, has he done a runner?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Codeine's the very thing for back pain (or strong toothache for that matter). It was discussed over at the "tougher thread" where they were talking about how you need to take it after food, as well as reminiscing about the other drugs they used to use like cocaine for travel sickness.
It sounds like they're looking to limit its use as (who would have guessed it) it's potentially addictive as it's an opiate, so you might get questioned by the pharmacist if you keep going back for more. And rightly so!
it's good stuff, but it can make you go a bit loopy. last time this happened, i couldn't afford to take time off work because i was so busy, so i was eating codiene like smarties. couldn't feel any pain, but i was told to go home eventually as i was just sitting in the middle of the office spinning around on my chair, off with the fairies!0 -

I wouldn't take it during the day. I think I had diclofenac for daytime painkilling, which was reasonably OK. Codeine is strictly a night time painkiller for me.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
