Thank goodness for cats. They make amazing little hot water bottles. Mauve squeaker keeps snoring though.

Okay, why did we learn naughty, elephants, squirt water? I found north, east, south, west easy enough to remember.

Over time I've tried to get my stuff online, in case of PC failure. It always ends up with a lot of extra work (hours/days/weeks) to get stuff into order.

So far I've got a password-keeper software, with over 1000 entries. On this I also note every date I log into every site and relevant stats and what I did.

I moved email to gmail. All my WP blogs email me a backup to that every week, which is handy.

I use openx to deliver my ad codes to my sites more easily.

I recently started using Evernote for all my bookmarks/saving websites and stuff (I have two different accounts for different subjects). That's limited by bandwidth though, so not an ideal solution unless I pay money, which I am not prepared to do at the moment.

After yesterday's news that Google were going to have files online, I had a quick look as I was interested and randomly decided to start using dropbox. So, just trying it out by uploading a dozen or so files. I have at least 300 PDFs I'd like online. I've always preferred having stuff on my own PC as websites can disappear overnight ..... but I think for my PDFs a copy on an External HDD and a copy online would make the files portable and available. It's bl00dy slow though! Although that's probably my connection. Just asked it to upload four 10-12MB PDf files and it'll take about 50 minutes.

The long-term objective is to have all of my stuff portable between any of my current and future PCs and safe from being lost.

I was in quiz last week and was shocked to realise that we have a new ocean, The Southern, according to Wiki it suddenly appeared in the millenium :) Isn't it bad enough all those countries changing their capital cities icon9.gif

Survived the meeting last night.....just. Had to follow elderly lady in V6 Range Rover along our road and then down some obscure lane, but had serious trouble keeping up with her. The journey ended at a real farmhouse in a place called Nomansland.

We have a house in Chester, hidden away next to the river called 'Nowhere', it is supposed to be the inspiration behind the The Beatles song 'Nowhere Man'
