Snow is fun because I get to wear my tartan coat.
(picture taken last year, he doesn't fit in it anymore)
That is very cute. Your's could be a dog model. I've never had a "pretty" dog, but my parent's current dog can dance to Blue Monday, which is very funny to watch. She gets her front paws and taps out the beat, initially just with the left paw but then with both. Unfortunately they've made me promise never to post video online in case she is "dognapped" for her unusual talents:(.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I love Gavin and Stacey and can do the accent spot on. Something I threaten my kids I'll do in front of their friends when they are annoying. I don't know why it is seen as embarrassing to have a mother with a strong welsh accent, but apparently it is.
I like the South Wales accent. So how many times do you say "down by yu" in a minutes worth of talking? Valleys talk is best though and how they refer to "those posh Cardiff ones".
Weather isn't too bad here today and currently around 1° at the moment. It was a lovely day yesterday and were not suffering too badly in sunny West Scotland.0 -

Or before six yesterday.
Tbh, i need them to come in and turn the water on for twenty mins to refill drinking water now, so i am getting a little tetchy.
1] You got the annual service 'free' as it was included, meaning there's no excuses to not get round to calling the man in.
2] I instantly knew who to call - and that they'd turn up. No faffing around to find a local man that'd answer the phone, be interested, be able to come, actually turn up, not do that sharp intake of breath sound when it came to pricing
3] I discovered the secret to getting an engineer out on a Saturday on demand, so no more trying to get time off work if it broke down0 -

That's terrible, viva:(
We do keep an eye out. Marge (fictional name) can be only in 2 places : a) in bed b) in her lounge watching tv or reading. Her lounge curtains are open and without fail, every night she is sitting there. Not much chance of falling because she can't get out of her chair or bed unaided, the nurse/carer visits often and assists. We have a key and when something doesn't look right, I'll have a look of course.
The knocking (hearing) bit probably won't work as the walls are decent 1950's thick walls. Even with her telly on maximum volume we don't hear a thing.0 -

The weather here is really strange. It snowed at the weekend, then thawed and has been frozen solid since. So you have these oddly shaped and very lethal ice patches everywhere. For most of the pavement you can walk around safely, then you have to negotiate a 3 metre patch of ice with no other route. Not at all like the normal English weather of dump snow, have a moan about it in the papers, thaw.
Here, we have had not much of a thaw....roads and pavements are still a nightmare in pretty much all of the village and the main town (main roads are ok but the pavements to those roads are eek!) but where a slight thaw has taken place, it is sheet ice.
Been snowing pretty much all morning, only light snow so not really adding to what we have but it is also bitterly cold, bedroom temp is 13C.
Spent much of yesterday at the hospital with James, the simple slight wrench he did on the snow/ice on Monday when I was picking him up from school resulted in a slightly more severe dislocation than he usually has. He can't have crutches because his shoulders come straight out, so the only thing they can do is tell him to rest as much as he can, not weightbear as much as he can and no cross siting for the rest of the week....guess what he did today?
Yep, he cross sited and has just been on the phone almost in tears because he is in agony...silly, stubborn man. He doesn't want me to pick him up though, he is going to work through the pain as he doesn't want to miss anymore school (his whole reason for cross siting, he didn't want to miss the lesson and they couldn't organise the work in time).
I knew his concerns and did offer to pick him up at lunch time to take him to the other school but he refused (I think because he thought they could email him the work to be done) and then he didn't say anything to me until he arrived at the other school during lunch! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Their not as good as they used to be.
The rule used to be that any call before 7pm would be answered that day!
Now you need to call in the morning and if you aren't vunerable they will try to come the next day.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My local plumber would have been here that day. This is the stupid bristish gas thing. Dh insisted on it....because even though we have tried to change energy suppliers for some reason it doesn't happen. We pay less, have no boiler to service, have waited 4 days, but were preety sure we would need the service, so seemed a sensible bet this year:D0
