I have seen references to gavin and stacey but know idea who they are.
I miss lemonjelly, i hope he is ok.0 -
I love Gavin and Stacey and can do the accent spot on. Something I threaten my kids I'll do in front of their friends when they are annoying. I don't know why it is seen as embarrassing to have a mother with a strong welsh accent, but apparently it is.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's an old house, so a bit of puckered paper won't be out of character.
In our old 30s place the plaster was shot in one room and the previous owner had hung heavy anagypta to hold it together, which was OK till our moggies started shredding it......:(
So.....after a bit of thought, I made up some glass-fibre resin and painted it over the bottom 80cm of the walls, where they were bad. That fooled the cats and it held the anagypta & plaster together.
Mind you, I'm not sure what names I've been called, if the current owners have since done a make-over in there! :rotfl:
Just an idea, anyway.
I think i really need a pic to demonstrate the extent of the puckering.0 -
Today's Express headline:Britain is officially colder than the North and South Poles with the Norwegian island of Svalbard – famous for polar bears – a relatively mild -6C.
So you take an island where it's unusually mild at the moment, almost 1000 miles from the North Pole, and conclude Britain is colder than both poles. Okay :rotfl:
Most recent weather observations from the Scott-Amundsen base on the South Pole is -35C.0 -
We had a couple of snow flurries 10 mins ago, but it stopped now.0

i'd be more worried if the express printed an accurate or realistic headline on their front page to be honest. in fairness, it is a nice change from their normal "house prices to soar by 1,000% by next tuesday" stuff.0 -
Grrr.....no plumber yet. So much for 8-12 today.
Or before six yesterday.

lir that's terrible! Please call them up and tell them that they need to come now for that reason. You and the animals can't be left without water to drink, it is cruel. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

We have some left in troughs, just not much. I also can, if we get desperate, take bucketsto the field and bring them up to the emty troughs, but its very very hard work, because we are not forzen, so its slippery and muddy, ii would rather not. Also, i have a dozen five litre containers i have been refilling and taking over twice a day to stem the shortfall a bit, but it doesn't cover the needs. In the feed room i have two big muck bucket s dull, but they are gone now. I reckon the yard system lasts us five days max without water being on, today is day four.
I also havewater on for the house, so i am not without, just awkwardly with iyswim. We won't die, but getting the wtaer for the animals will make me very thirsty. Lol.
If i culd have the water on for twenty mins we would be ok for aother five days.
I said when we called, put me at the bottom of the list ...i am not a child or an elderly....and they said tues. which was fine.
I did just call and they said i am next on the list :j :j :j
After the repair i will try and get him to stay till everything refils then turn me off again for the freeze later:D0
