    Sorry Doozer. I can't keep up:o.

On a slightly different subject, has anyone seen the new Grand Designs magazine? It has a bit in the back about storage. In it is my dream staircase. Each of the stair risers opens up and is a shoe rack. Lovely...

    Ohhhhh. Will have a look.

Atm i am still really interested in baths. The ones we like the look of are not the ones we will be getting, because they make you sit up, and we like to lie down. In the telegraph at the weekend there was one of the most beautiful bathrooms to my taste ever, but another sit up bath...albeit marble. Just no good for whiling away an hour or two with a book!

Sigh. I might have to live with it. Needs a talanted plasterer because cant have modern flat plaster and really needs old plaster, not modern stuff.

Floor is...blah, concrete. Plus side, there is a damp proof course. Will be having wood longer term but could live with clean cheap carpet for now. Just fed up of manky old carpet.
Could you bite the bullet and learn to do that plastering yourself? On the basis that if you get it OK it'll look nice ... and if you !!!! it up a pro can do it in 2-3 years' time? I'm sure if you paid attention and went slowly you could get it done if you really wanted to.

It's not something I'd fancy - I wouldn't mind the plastering, it's the fact that I am small and so it'd mean going up and down ladders perpetually to reach the ceiling

I would if I still lived in my old house. My subscription goes there still.

It's probably MSE though. The last issue I had I ended up buying the Osborne & Little Komodo wallpaper. With my 15% trade discount at Brewers, it was still about £81 for one roll. The shame. It does look like it's jewelled though and it's cheaper than tiles on that wall in the ensuite :o

Being random, I want to own this shop. I've never been there, and it's too far to go to, but I love it.

You could open a shop like that .... for kids' bedrooms. Revamps, overhauls and redevelopment styling.

Then shut the shop and throw all the cushions in the air before doing cartwheels.

Having rented 1-bed flats for years .... I'd kill for ANY bath. All these bad developers sub-dividing everywhere and squeezing tiny shower rooms in is a bl00dy nightmare. Having a shower's good ... but having a bath is what's really handy for loads of stuff.

I even heard Kirstie remark, on an old RRR programme that aired earlier this evening, "Oh, just a shower - no good if you want to shave your legs...." so it's not just me!

I am finding it increasingly difficult to remain upright in showers these days, with all the contortions you have to get into with a loofah to wash head to toe.

I am hoping to give dh a list for duty free next week....but not sure as he is gong to two different countries and might not want hold luggage between the two. Its a pita.

You can buy duty free on the way out and they hold it for you to collect on your way home.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    You go girl!
I once went on a dinner date, and she ordered a plate of linguini I think it was. Ate about one tenth of it and then said "I'm full". I paid 12 quid for that  :)
And before anyone says she said 'I'm full" to get out of the date ASAP...she didn't leave right away. :p

We do the same but then I have to make sure that DW orders something that I don't mind eating (no mushrooms) and I order something bland tomake sure she has something to eat in case she doesn't like what we have chosen for her so we both end up eating something unexciting that wouldn't have been our first choice.

    Yes we do that often.
And after Mrs Wheezy realises that her choice was not the best one, she tends to ignore what was supposed to be her meal and what was supposed to be her try-out. Then we swap plates. I always give in. :o

We went for a great bath and then find we rarely use it as we can't justify using 3x as much water for what is basically the same outcome so instead we use one of the other two standard baths.

I've just been looking at the thread on the S&I board about whether people would invest in facebook. There's not a single poster saying that they would. Doesn't bode well if that's a common theme. I can't say as I would, too much of an obvious candidate (as an industry) for creative destruction.

What do others think? (as a chat subject rather than investment advice)...
