(i) she's not going to be fat if she only eats 1/10 of her meals
I saw her about 10 years later - round as a football .... but still married to the guy.0 -

Why can't people give you a reasonable time estimate. It cannot be beyond a plumber to give you a ring at, say, noon, and let you know what the ETA is likely to be. It would really help if these people could let you know a time before which they will not turn up so you can leave the house for 10 minutes....
Speaking to people can add ages - probably equivalent to being able to do one less call per day.0 -

i always encourage the OH to have a starter anywhere we go, and then get some bread on top of that, as i know she will declare "FULL!" after about three bites of her main, and then i can polish off the lot.
Usually, when eating out, I eat ONLY a main course and I have no alcohol. I only order what I know I'll like and what I know I can eat all of. I remember being annoyed once going out with my sibling (about 30 years ago but it still annoys me) - she ordered lots of indian side dishes, then literally just had a small portion/taste of each. SUCH waste!!! And then she expected us to split the bill!!0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »There is a doorbell you can get that phones your mobile - I wrote an article about it. It's ideal if you're not in and want to speak to postmen and tell them where to leave parcels, or to make rogue callers think you're in the house. It's also good for old people to give them chance to find out who is at the door before they answer it - and for them then to tell the caller to wait while they shuffle to the door with their zimmer.
They press the bell, your mobile rings, you answer and they hear you through a speakerphone at the door - so they think you're inside.
Thats perfect for me.....now, where did i put my mobile.......:D0 -
Re this thing of eating yor partners meals, do other people not try each other's food? This is obviously poor table manners, but dh and i do it always. We choose what we are having partly based on what the other is having....to gove maximum menu sampling potential. We always feel a bit sad if we both want the same thing and uoften review the menu to see if one f us wants somehting els,e or both of us want some of something else. And it makes choosing wine easier if we are both eating both dishes, lol. And we share puds some times.0

Yes we do that often.
And after Mrs Wheezy realises that her choice was not the best one, she tends to ignore what was supposed to be her meal and what was supposed to be her try-out. Then we swap plates. I always give in.0 -

That's one of the reasons my experience of eating is so very limited - I won't order things I don't know as it'd be a waste of money if I didn't like them. Yet I never get a chance to try stuff.
I also never have wine with meals.... or at all. I don't like wine.0 -

It would certainly be silly to order wine if you don't like it, lol. If i wanted to try more stuff i would try one new thing a month or fortnight, or whatever fitted in with life. I'd even try a supermarket version, knowing it would not be the best ratjer than nothing.0 -

Then the question would be why doesn't the rule extend to trains and the tube.
'Tis a policy to make the public feel better and many people working in airline security think it should be abolished.
